And apparently, going by the comments here, it's a good reason to shit on Adam Sessler, who has done absolutely nothing wrong as far as we know but is still somehow being judged and shit on for reacting to something that we don't understand.

From Jeff's response he implied that GB is in the same position. And by Arthur Gies complaining he would at least be able to review AC4 on time he implied Polygon is in the same position.

It sounds like everyone is in the same position. Sony isn't giving open access before the 13th to any outlet. While this may be annoying if you are trying to video review every game in 2 days (as Sessler will try to do apparently), it doesn't mean the end of the world for Sessler. If he has to work 48 hours straight I feel bad for him. But if that happens for every console launch (about twice every 7 years), then it's not the end of the world he made it out to be.

And then Gies refusing to take any responsibility for overplaying the situation and instead stating that people should have ignored his tweets is just ridiculous. He is a person who makes his money by people listening to him. He should be careful what he wishes for. If he keeps acting that way, people might stop listening to him and then where would he be?

These two did drama queen it up too much. They deserve the negative attention they got.

I love how Joliet, the fourth most populous city in the state of Illinois, is somehow "the middle of f'ing nowhere" to Patrick.

What is he talking about with the text in reviews? Were people trying to claim that that is a thing?

I'm listening to the show right now (yes, I'm late) and I don't even know what controversy they are talking about.

Me neither, I wish they'd made it a little clearer. As they themselves admitted, they're feeding into the bullshit machine with the way they talked about it so cryptically. Patrick in particular prides himself as a real video game journalist, (rightly so) so I was a little disappointed with the way things were discussed.

Yeah, I understand that, but all the dancing around did was make google console news from the last week. I appreciate that they don't want to feed the machine but I think they just shouldn't have even mentioned it (which I believe they acknowledged) because it piqued my interest. I thought Patrick mentioned Tearaway but then they started talking about consoles.

The Stanley Parable fix might not be censorship, but it's patent bullshit.

If he didn't change it, it might become an issue, which is the scary part.
