This game was so good, and the soundtrack is amazing. So amazing that I have a limited edition vinyl of it, and still listen to it every now and then. So yeah highly recommend the soundtrack of Shatter.

Speaking of Shatter and Genesis style FM synth, the second best Breakout/Arkanoid soundtrack after Shatter is Cyber Block Metal Orange EX for the X68000 (not the older non-EX version). Like the Genesis, the X68000 also uses Yamaha FM synth.

A lot of places you'll see the composer for Cyber Block Metal Orange listed as Hitoshi Sakimoto, the prolific composer that did games like Final Fantasy Tactics. HG101 seems to think Sakimoto just made the sound driver that was used on Cyber Block Metal Orange. Who ever did the soundtrack, it sounds good enough to be Hitoshi Sakimoto.

Just don't search for the game with Bing.

@brad If you delete the community with your survivors (and if you finished the campaign once with them at some point) you can pick freely from them in a new community as long as you're playing on the same difficulty.

I'm pretty sure its the only thing I've ever won from a raffle/giveaway. Still a great soundtrack and makes for great driving music.

I've searched for the Shatter vinyl soundtrack for years. There's one on eBay now but they're asking ~$200 which is ridiculous/I can't afford.

Someday, someone's mom will list it for $5 or something and then I will have it :)

huh. I've heard the name Shatter here and there but actually never saw the game. This was the first time i saw it. Seems like a neat modern twist on breakout.

Shatter certainly does have controller support on Steam. I've never seen it played with mouse and keyboard before, it looks ok, if a little fiddly.
