Yes, Jeff! Play more Yakuza 0, it's incredible and a perfect way to get into the series! Y0 was also 60 on ps4 but I think the cutscenes were 30. Great PC port tho! Everybody jump in! It's also super cheap compared to the amount of content and awesome stuff you get!

Can't wait for Kiwami 2 in just a month!

Yakuza 0 has an uncapped framerate so it's the perfect game for Jeff to test his new monitor with.

@mattgiersoni: Huge fan of Yakuza, and since i have no PS4 right now, ill get it for sure. But one thing is messing with me. When @jeff was doing the fighting tutorial the buttons displayed were PS buttons, but during the Karaoke it turned to Xbox buttons. Is there a way to lock it to PS buttons that you know of?

Uh...is it just me, or is the music in Magical Brickout just the verse instrumentals to Are You In? by Incubus?

@mattgiersoni: 60 in theory. It hardly held that, and often felt below 30 in the more crowded areas. Wasn't even perfect on the Pro, either. I love the shit out of that game but a stable framerate is a huge, huge deal, at least to me.

Glad to know Yakuza runs well on PC. Actually many Japanese console titles are porting really well so I shouldn't be surprised. From Platinum's games to MGSV to Yakuza, and apparently Monster Hunter World port runs super well too. Always gotta make sure though, because sometimes ports can be real messed up.

Anyway more Yakuza on the site is always great to see, hope it's not the last of it we've seen.

No clue what you're talking about but Y0 held a solid 60 most of the time on PS4. Played through it on base and Pro. Kiwami 1 also has the same performance as 0.

Indeed, I played it nearly every day this week. I beat it the first day but decided to keep playing because it's just fun to run around.

I really dislike it when the videos get taken down and then re-uploaded and then I'm presented with an error message from the website saying it's like my fault for using a bad link...when ya'll were the ones that gave the bad link in the first place.

I can't wait to play this on PC shortly. I know we are also getting Kiwami 2 right? I don't remember if we are getting Yakuza 6 or not though, hope we do.

I'm still so hung up on how when Alex first said they were gonna go through Yakuza it sounded like he meant the whole franchise and then they only did Beast in the East for 0, feelsbadman.

Same here. It was one of my favorite features from the GBEast and it always felt like they were going to go through the whole series and were just taking a break, but since Alex (and also Dan?) have been playing it at home on their own, it doesn't seem like Beast in the East is coming back, which is a shame...

@lordloc Not Kiwami 2, the first Kiwami is coming to PC at an unspecified date. Kiwami 2 is coming out on PS4 on august 28th and there's been no word on any other PC ports beside Y0 and Kiwami 1. I imagine PS4 is still going to be priority for releases. They are also remastering Y3,4,5 for PS4 in japan in the coming months so hopefully it's gonna come quickly to the west since they have been previously localized on PS3 and maybe they will also land on PC someday along with Kiwami 2 and 6! The new Dragon Engine (Y6 and Kiwami 2) would so incredible maxed out on PC! (Kiwami and 0 still use the old PS3 engine) It'd be honestly amazing to have the whole franchise both on PS4 and PC!

@mattgiersoni: Honestly I hope they redo the localisation of (at least) 3, because I heard that localisation was less than ideal, and the team post 0 have done such a good job with it.

I also wonder if they're gonna go with the naming scheme of Kiwami + entry number for the rest of the series, so Y3 would be Kiwami 3 etc.

@cyberspacecat: Don't think they'll stick with the naming for those, Kiwami are complete remakes of old games in a new engine. (PS2 Y1 and 2 remakes) Whereas Y3,4,5 coming to ps4 in japan in the coming months are just remasters (so higher res + 60fps). Localisation is good but Y3 had certain stuff cut out in the western version so hopefully now it'll be complete :/ Honestly, I'm just happy Yakuza is getting bigger and bigger in the west and we're getting more and more games and faster! Good times!

@mattgiersoni: Yakuza 3 definitely had some localization issues beyond just the cut content. A big one being the renaming of Shintaro Kazama to Shintaro Fuma (because it was too similar to Kazuma). He gets name dropped a lot in that game too, so it would be very confusing for anyone coming from 0 and Kiwami. Also if I recall correctly, they were still trying to call everyone by their first names at that point (so Kazuma instead of Kiryu, or Goro instead of Majima) which is another offputting inconsistency.

It wasn't until 4 that they started to correct their mistakes, although there's still a few leftover elements of the old localization in it, like Majima calling Kiryu "Kazzy" instead of "Kiryu-chan".
