Protip! Turn on fast mode in the settings. It speeds up all the animations so you're not waiting around as much.

Fast mode is essential.

I adore this game. I apparently have 183 hours in it (had no idea). I have reached acension 4 with the Defect and have hit a wall. My main issue is I play it in kind of a zone out mode and keep screwing up and making bad decisions.

I hope they have plans to add another class in the future. That would be rad.

My only gripe is that there has been a memory leak problem with the game for a very long time now and with every weekly patch I hope they fix it but they never do. Game will eat up all available memory. Doesn't happen to everyone, but it is a pain in the ass. I have to restart the game after every boss.

The main mix of three reasons why people do intermittent fasting are generally 1) lose body fat, 2) quickly build muscle mass, or 3) general health purposes.

In the broadest sense, it helps regulate how many calories you eat in a day, based on your age/weight/body type. That's pretty much it. The most popular method is the "16/8" method, which means no food (no ingesting anything that triggers a glycemic/blood sugar response) for 16 hours, and then an 8 hour window to eat normally. For most, this means skipping breakfast, eat something for lunch at say 12 noon, eat dinner by 8PM, and nothing but generally water after that until the next day.

Also, everything I say after this pretty much only pertains to people who don't have issues with their blood sugar levels (diabetes, etc.), or have much different lifestyles. This is also assuming that even if you only eat food in a smaller window of time during a day, it doesn't mean cram +1000 more calories in a day than you actually should.

For a more specific answer, as it pertains to #1, it works by increasing your overall insulin sensitivity, which is what regulates how available your stored body fat is to be burned from your body. Double that up with the general framework for helping regulate how many calories you eat, it's great for losing weight/fat loss.

For #2 to gain muscle mass, intermittent fasting has shown to increase natural human grown hormone (HGH). There's benefit here for fat loss too obviously, but great for muscle gains as well. In my personal experience, fasting AND going to the gym makes me feel sharper, and have an overall increased state of focus during a fasted state. This will sound pseudo-science-ish here, but this is largely your body going through a "fight or flight" situation as it tries to tap into your body's glycogen energy stores in the absence of food to digest.

For #3, it's just good to give your digestive system a break sometimes, especially on a typical diet that is extremely carbohydrate rich, or heavy on foods that are not easy to move through your system.

It can't be right to take anything other than the lose 1 HP draw a card each turn at the start, that effect is the most default OP thing going on in a TCG.

Kind of a shitty comment! You can compliment Jan without needlessly dumping on Ben, you know.

Seventy minutes of Jan is like seventy minutes of smooth sailing.
Not that I ever sailed but I think sailors will agree that the analogy holds.

@ripelivejam: I know. I really like competent, skillful people that are just good at whatever they are doing and Jan is all that, hope to see you more often on the show and on GB videos in general.

Jan has been such a good addition to the team. He is great in vids by himself, and him and Ben kill me when they are together.
