Quick Look: Disco Elysium

Yo I started playing this game and the writing is straight out of my 11th grade Creative Writing class. Or, maybe to put it another way, it feels like Reddit wrote it. It's just written like a post-angst clueless dude wrote it all. This game seems to really pull off a feat in its structure, and definitely in it's quantity of writing... but I'm not seeing the quality. And, no, I'm not offended by anything in it; it's just kinda simply, cheaply written. These writer(s) needed to read a few things outside their comfort zone and not dismiss anything left of Biden as "liberal".

BUT, I'm only about 4 hours in on my furthest character (restarted about 5 times), so I guess it's possible this could change. It's just, seeing what this game thinks counts as the "funny/cheeky/witty" dialog-choices so far, it does not give me hope for a rewarding payoff in regards to the game's handling of more serious politics down the road. In other words - giving me a "radical feminist agenda" perk for doing something that is literally just the most-good option, and then sarcastically stating "oh boy here I come with my... eugh... hardcore feminism" every time I take advantage of its effects - is making me think there's no way someone who could push that version-commit to a repo and not layer their keyboard in vomit can simultaneously not hold repugnant perceptions of contemporary politics.

Anyone willing to dispel my worries? Thinking I'll stop here and finally go play Outer Wilds (not Outer Worlds).
