sigh

The drumbeat of "this is where the industry is gonna go" continues, I see. I wish more time was spent reminding people of the importance of the physical access to games and where moving to all-digital could take us (as far as anti-consumer practices are concerned) coupled with a reminder that these businesses rely on our patronage which affords us the opportunity to demand and coerce them to adjust their strategies; but instead we are just told "hey, this is inevitable". And yet, oh hey, here's some awful story about the percentage of games that will completely disappear (isn't that just inevitable?) and oh hey, look at this cool effort to archive all of these games since the industry won't (why should we care, isn't it just inevitable?).
