You know something Jeff? You're one crazy motherfucker. If Twitch Plays Pokemon gets shut down I will hold you accountable for blowin up their spot. Just kidding. Let's keep this zoo crew audio feature rolling.
I've been popping in and out of Twitch Plays Pokemon for about 5 days now, and while I'm not usually paying attention I have managed to catch some of the more amazing moments, like finally finishing Rock Tunnel, Pidgeotto evolving into Pidgeot (remember you can press B to stop it), and getting the Pokeflute at the top of the tower filled with ghosts that Pidgeot can't touch. I've gone and looked back at the other milestones but without the chat it's just not as fun. It's all about sharing the experience with other people. Which I suppose is the point of live streaming games in the first place.
I can't usually watch for more than 10 or so minutes at a time; but it's an incredible social experiment to behold. It's a really neat idea, and I like how well it has taken off. I'll definitely keep checking in until the bitter (or glorious) end.
@mormonwarrior: Remember getting it and nobody knowing what the fuck Pokemon was? Good times.
The anime show and the cards premiered in the US before the game ever did. At least, I know the show did. So a lot of kids knew what Pokemon was before I did. When I first played the game it was magical. Those games were really special.
@mormonwarrior: Huh. I remember getting Pokemon Blue and knowing absolutely nothing about it, and nobody at school understood what the hell I was rambling about. But you're right, the show did come out earlier in the month. Weird.
What I've learned from reading about the fanmade stories and memes that have come out of Twitch Plays Pokemon is that most of the people currently on the internet shouldn't have been allowed on it in the first place.
