The first thing that came to my mind was unlocking the double jump in Symphony of the Night. Once you get that, the full game REALLY opens up and that's when suddenly you realize just how much bigger the castle actually is.

Wait, does rocket league even have a double jump? It has an air boost thing, but they disqualified that as a double jump. I haven't played in a long time so I don't remember.

@hornet: it's a regular double jump if you jump again with no stick input.

The ice key stuff does have a function in the XBL re-releases. I went through and did it all a decade ago and was able to unlock a dragon variant of Kazooie you can play with in Banjo Tooie. Was awesome.

They may have deemed it illegal, but the warlock jump in the Destiny games does feel pretty damn good.

There is one double jump in an upcoming game that comes to mind. I hear it is based on this one video. I was visiting Gear Box to check out and see if Borderlands 3 yet. Randy Pichford was showing off a video. He told his game designers to pay attention to the "fluid dynamics" and said it was simply magic. Oh and by the way the model, more of a performer, was over eighteen. Let's not forget that less someone puts it in a lawsuit. Anyway, after seeing this video he had a thumbstick he remembered to keep at work, expect to see some Super Mario Sunshine style double jumping in Borderlands 3.
