@hollyw00t: In one Bradley may cry episode he explained what he thinks is a spoiler. He cited the "Aeris dies" rule meaning everything that is as or more relevant to a plot like Aeris death is a spoiler. So the issue here is that Brad regards very few things as a spoiler and does not really think he is spoiling anything.

Apart from when it concerns his gaming habits, of course. Imagine if the staff were actually allowed to talk about Mass Effect 3 last year when the rest of the world was :o I also remember an occasion when he whined about not wanting a game spoiled just for him during a GOTY discussion a year or two ago. Yikes!

What? I don't understand your point about the Mass Effect thing.

It's their job to talk about games, yes? Shouldn't this go double when a game stirs up controversy and news? Who was stopping them talking about ME3 on the podcast last year? Professionalism woo

Some eerie Ricotello predictions around 1:54

Also, shut the fuck up Brad about telling people they should expect games like SimCity to be fucked at launch. As usual Vinny has to call him out on the dumb shit he says.

They both have legitimate points of view. Vinny's idealistic, but naive, perspective is the one we should yearn for, in which the thing you bought actually works and if not, you can return it (which is a double fuck you to EA - I hope there's some class action lawsuit incoming for their shitty return policy, not so that I can get in on the action, but to set precedent). However, as logical and obvious as that sounds, Brad is absolutely right, at least about the responsibility of the consumer to protect themselves from shitty publisher behavior. While I don't remember Brad saying to "expect" games to be broken at launch (and I'm listening to this cast right now) he did say to do your research and be informed, which I'm all for. I get the appeal of being in day one, being part of the hype and the discussion, but that's by no means a requisite to buying/playing a game. Wait a couple days to make sure you're not getting a lemon, then decide for yourself - blaming EA for the shitty return policy is valid, blaming them because you purchased it on a whim isn't.
