Undertale is my absolute top GOTY but I feel its the sort of game that's targeted at a specific age demographic. In the case of Undertale it's our generation.

I'm just hoping at least one of them beats the game more than once... Resorting to YouTube is lazy.

Dang, I'm a week behind with Bombcasts!

I think every single time Jeff has publicly talked about THPS5, he has been more negative on it than the last time.

No else plays Rock Band alone like I do? I don't have anyone to play with, so if I ever played with anybody, it was through online multiplayer. I didn't realize Rock Band 4 didn't have online play. I hope they add it later.

I do sometimes wonder why the backlash towards talking about, covering, or just mentioning certain games is so..high. Sub topic, why does Brad seem to be addicted to all of them. But I mean think about it. Dota, Destiny, MGS5. I mean yes, there is only so much you can about a given game in a given, say, one month period? I don't mean the "We are tired of hearing about the same thing 4 weeks in a row" I mean I wonder about the "Omg not that again!" months down the line that something like Dota or Destiny gets that causes them to, say on this podcast desc, have to downplay that they even bring one of them up. See how people treat any Dota content on the site and etc even if its months since the last one, and about something completely new (a scandal among the teams, a complete revision of systems that make it more player friendly, whatever). In any other game that would be news..but its Dota so rage!!!"

I'm not even being critical of people who hold the opinion, I am one of them! I just couldn't for the life of me explain to you why I can't stand Dota or Destiny or etc and yet don't mind other games that come up with similar frequency/fan-bases.

CORRECTION: "I Will Follow" is like one of the oldest U2 songs they have, though the other song is from the new album.

I know that I am leery of those games Destiny/DOTA etc.) because they attract mono-gamers. People who only really play one game or one series of games. And non-monogamers pretty generally dislike mono-gamers. Maybe because we perceive the industry as caring about attracting the mono-gamer audience more than they care about people who just love games? I don't know.@austin_walker probably has a better answer.

Whoa. Well, that was an informative first half-hour. Tony Hawk 5 gets completely eviscerated on today's podcast. They really didn't hold back at all! Well them's the breaks, I guess. We all know Activision can do a lot better in 2015. Your 65 dollar game shouldn't pale in comparison, stability-wise, to a freaking mobile clone that came out in 2012. That's simply unacceptable; I agree with the Bombcast crew on this one.

I waited through 2 and a half hours to find out why D'Lo Brown was the picture, and, now that I know, my mind is both blown and see how this is one of the most logical conclusion of a pro wrestling career.

@bladededge: i think people in general like variety. I like it when the duders expand their horizons a bit, but i think i'd rather hear them talk about something they're passionate about even if i'm not that into it rather than hear forced and probably not very deep talk about a bunch of games.

Valkyrie Profile was fucking tremendous.

@ballsleon: I can't speak for Jeff, but for me MVC2 was when that series started becoming too much about assists and ranged characters and an incomprehensible mess of effects on the screen. For me, the Vs. series peaked with Marvel vs. Street Fighter.

Cable/Magneto/Storm and similar all-ranged teams were the worst, and that was basically everyone at the arcade because most people didn't know how to deal with it. It just wasn't fun for me.

I played through The Beginner's Guide yesterday and it's certainly a memorable experience (that I won't talk about further for spoiler reasons). Definitely going to spend some time with Undertale soon.

In other news, watching The Raid got me back into Destiny and I'm super glad it did because that game really is better in so many ways now (and I loved the original, put over 400 hours in and that was almost all pre-HoW).

When I first saw the Tony Hawk Project 8 cover, I thought "Why the hell is Billy Bragg on the case?"

Billy Bragg's Pro Skater is a game I'd buy.

I'm partial to Enter the Dragon, myself, but Way of the Dragon is pretty fun.

It's coincidental that you mentioned Farcry Primal and Way of the Dragon in the same episode. Way of the Dragon showed how little spoken dialogue you need (or need to understand) to make a good piece of media. I wonder if we may get the same out of Primal through the constraint of setting the time to 10,000 BC, which predates recorded language. A cop out would be to concoct a primitive language, like Simlish and do subtitles, and the easiest way out is just to use English in a Babblefish-like fashion.

That whole conversation about Tony Hawk was also a perfect description of all thats bad with Destiny. Shitty loadtimes and respawns to uninspired levels, its all there ;)

@razzuel: I never played Guitar Hero or Rock Band together with anyone. I had Rock Band 1 and only played it alone. Probably missed out but had noone to play it with.

The premium Bombcast doesn't have ads.

As Jeff Green said in regards to how hard you worked on a game versus reviewing games: "Tough shit."

The ads were fun for a while but these days when I'm out on a run or something I just want to listen to the conversation and don't need two entire minutes of a schtick about Crunchyroll or whatever.

@goodlymike: I haven't heard the ads in a while. I used to be too lazy to switch Beastcast from regular to premium on my app so each time I went out for an hour long run I'd get the ads there and like I said, it's fun, but it's not that fun. I mean it's still basically an ad interrupting my podcast, so I rather just skip it, especially since when I'm running it seems like they take forever to finish.

I don't have time for a jrpg...

God, I hate this excuse. You don't want to play a jrpg, that's all there is to it.
