I'd be there opening night for Cena in a Duke Nukem movie. This is from a dude who thinks wrestling is rad, but never knew how to get into it, and who has some mild fondness for Duke from the Duke Nukem 3D days.

The only DBZ game I've ever genuinely liked was Budokai 3. The rest I've either not had enough interest to play or played and thought were not very good. I've been a DragonBall fan since I was a kid and even I'll admit that it has a rough history when it comes to video games. I probably wouldn't have even given Budokai 3 the time of day if not for the review of this beautiful man (rest his soul).

Here's hoping FighterZ ends up being good. I'm pretty touch and go with DB Super and I think it does a much better job in terms of new characters compared to some of the garbage you see in GT.

Why do they think the only alternative to sword and shield in Dark Souls is parrying? I always found mastering the dodge roll to be the primary alternative to relying on blocking.

It's 10 bucks a month, but it's probably from more people than would buy the game and in some cases will stop a used copy entering circulation (I suspect people who would only sign up for a month are more likely to buy used or re-sell). I can see the money working out for Game Pass pretty easily.

It works for Forza Horizon, because those games are substantially different to each other, but I've been bouncing around between Forza 5/6/7 over the past few weeks (cleaning up achievements) and honestly the differences are pretty slight. If you own Forza N, there's not a whole lot new to be interested in Forza N+1 (mostly same tracks, mostly same cars, modes are the same or less etc.), at least post-4 when they aren't making big leaps forward nor refining the formula still.

Edit: I'm not sure bringing up the 3DS _hardware_ sales is that relevant to piracy. If anything, the easy of piracy might push up hardware sales (people buying to play bootleg games), and this late in the cycle it's not going to have the depressant effect it had on PSP/Dreamcast (third-parties have already put those games on the system).

And browsers are so ludicrously complicated that building your own is going to be _way_ worse than something that has been stress-tested to hell and back in Chrome/Safari, and is going to require a ton of resources (estimated cost to reimplement everything: $214million; even if you ditch most of it as stuff you don't need for your platform, like Google have done, you're still in the 3million lines of code/$50million ballpark).

btw @rorie: the program used to be on the BBC but the production company sold the show to a non-BBC channel and Mary Berry refused to go along 'cause of loyalty to the BBC. I think the hosts just didn't go because Channel 4 had their own hosts in mind.

“Sorry”, but both Predator 2 and Predators are fantastic and fun films. I literally watched all 3 Predator films last week and I remember Brody doing no weird accent...he’s just doing his normal voice but “gruffer”.

I don't think it even works for Forza Horizon, its not about doing something new or well merely frequent releases wears away enthusiasm players have for the IP.

It still amazes me that Activision didn't spin Call of Duty Zombies into its own game, regardless of waning sales for the franchise proper. I mean, pull zombies out of Call of Duty and bring back Special Ops; there are shitloads of people who fucking hate the zombies bullshit but would be vastly more enthusiastic for a new Call of Duty if it offered 4-player co-op Special Ops missions. Meanwhile, Call of Duty Zombies, if expanded to have an actual 4-player campaign rather than just the usual survival puzzle shtick, would appeal to those people who already pick up Call of Duty for the zombies mode while also pulling in those people who might be holding out for a Left 4 Dead 3. It wouldn't be something they could shovel out every year - though, knowing Activision, that wouldn't stop them from trying - but I think a one-off release would sell fairly well.

Hollywood as a place and surname in Britain predate the place in America, Rory! It sounds really British to me :D

Great news this week, Labo , Game Pass and a possible Duke Nukem movie have me excited!

CoD on Battle.net would not be such a big thing as Rorie thinks. CoD has been quite bad on PC for a long time and there's not that many players left.

All this movie talk... west coast should do some Film & 40s. Just load those 40s up with that concentrated energy drink juice.

Instead of renewing their contract with the BBC, the production company sold the show then threw a lot of money at Paul (and I presume the others, who were vocally dissatisfied about the move / sale), and Paul stayed.

All of which is a shame, because I like GBB, but not with Paul and some Scabs on a... hell, I have no idea how the broadcast system works in the UK, but apparently Channel 4 does some hinky shit, like broadcasting "documentaries" about how Global Warming is the "greatest swindle of modern times." So... There's that.

P.S. - KEEP RORIE ON THE BOMBCAST!!! The podcast feels incredibly stale without someone there to offer a different voice or perspective.

Yeah I think thats right but part of me thinks Channel 4 wouldn't want Mel and Sue anyway, Noel Fielding's been mostly with Channel 4 for years. Yeah a lot of money was apparently offered to Mary and Paul but Mary's been on the BBC exclusively since the days of B&W.

Channel 4 does have some terrible documentaries aimed more at making noise than making a point. Broadcasting in the UK's simple really, the BBC has 4 channels and is almost entirely publicly funded so they don't have commercials or any of that shit (and the stuff they make is pretty good, especially documentaries) the rest are commercially run shitshows with very little to offer (except lots of money to the stars).

Then we've got the Murdock vehicle that is Sky (satellite TV which costs a lot of money, monopolizes the football coverage and still shows a shit ton of adverts)

Agreed, he does a great job and the movie itself is a lot of fun. I mean if Predators is not a good "Predator" movie than I dunno what is a good Predator movie. What are the boxes you need to check here? I honestly find the first one sort of boring and did not enjoy it at all the first time I watched it. Predator 2 was a lot of fun because it reminded me of Die Hard where this guy that is out of his league is doing the best he can to get out of this shitty situation. Also they showed a lot more of the cool Pred-tech which at the time was a big deal in movies since CGI wasn't so over the the top as it is now.

I mean, there was a 5 year gap between the release of gears 3 and 4...

I still found the gameplay in 4 fun but the lootbox stuff was BS, especially as someone who only plays horde and you essentially rely on luck to get better stats :(

Got a year's worth of game pass for $60 in March when their $5 a month sale allowed you to stack multiple months. Been a really great value so far, although not sure I could justify it at the normal $120 price a year. Paying double what I pay for a year of Gold just seems like too much.
