He talked about a few, most notably the Ring of Binding (the one that increases your minimum health like the Cling Ring in Demon's Souls) and the Stone Ring (which causes you to deal extra poise damage with your attacks).

I feel the same way as @rorie that Dark Souls II is much harder. Maybe it's because I'm also going for a Dex build and started as a Swordsman (which I'm starting to regret). Having just played a boatload of Dark Souls I thought I was well prepared but the combat is a lot different so far. Then again it's been a really long time since I've played a new Souls game and not known all the ins and outs.

I wonder, this new Blighttown you're talking about: do you mean No Man's Wharf or do you mean The Gutter?

Because if you've only seen the former, holy shit, hold on to your anus for the latter.

Hah I used killed the Pursuer with the ballista, I parried him (took many tries), and eventually it him and he went down to like...2% HP and I hit him a couple time and he went down. Wild.

@homelessbird: I did some exploring/boss murder last night and I somehow found myself in The Gutter. I took one look at that place and nope'd the fuck outta there.

I'm really, really not looking forward to returning. :(

Im waiting for the pc game but that dosent mean i wont listen to this right now, Dark Souls is such a challanging game that going in with a bit of knowledge will give me a bit of an edge but its hardly going to make the game easy. To be fair, im already so far into the souls games that im not going to feel that lost way again anyway.

I love it, but I have to wait to listen.

I agree with both sides of the argument about going in blind to a Souls game. The first time through, figuring things out for yourself and experimenting is a blast. Subsequent runs are when you open up to the internet and its vast knowledge to learn everything you missed, and that is fun as hell too.

Anyway, let there be more Dark Souls content! I'll consume it some day.

Whenever Brad says, "I wanted to throw X out the window," I want to throw Brad out the window.

So, I started playing and completely missed the "first" area. For some reason I must have just missed the path downwards because it is a little out of the way. Instead I went and killed the two bosses in the area with the large knights and made it to the watery underground area before I even went to the first area.

I thought it was odd that I was having to fight these giant guys without having really any weapons, but I got enough souls to equip the sword and shield that they dropped and just started destroying. I love the world and think it looks beautiful for a game still on the old generation. I really wasn't sure if they could make a better game than Dark Souls, but so far I am loving it.

I think they're being a little crazy about the limited spawns of enemies, I've gone through areas a bunch of times and enemies were still there, I have not noticed it at all.

I agree that they seem to be making a big deal out of being so scared with their souls, but I have seen it: It's definitely tied to the number of times you kill the specific enemies. So, if you are progressing well and not getting stuck, you won't notice it.

Between trying to get to the main boss in the Fallen Giants area AND the Pursuer, I went through one specific are a lot (the area with the giant sword jutting out over the ocean). In making all of those passes through that area, I killed the two spear wielding hollow soldiers guarding the fog door, many many times, to the point where they have stopped re-spawning. However, all other enemies in the area are still spawning (so far, I still haven't killed the Pursuer...). I wish I had kept count! With that said, I'm still very early in the game.

All you people complaining about waiting for PC, that's nothing! Some of us are waiting for a current generation console release, which hasn't even been announced yet!

Vinny thinks it is easier. He won't eventually. It can get pretty damn tough at times.

Listening to all of them missing the bastellion in the Pusuer is kind of funny, I killed that guy first try, super easy :P

Just listened to this. I agree with Vinny that this game is way too easy. It is just too easy to level up. And playing co-op is the new way to farm souls. I was just playing co-op because it was fun but realised i was leveling up too fast.

No Man's Wharf is not this games Blightown...

It surely is good commentary when every other person is whining about the game/release date/podcast. I actually want to read the discussions people were having about the game in the comments. Not sift through reworded copies of the same complaint. Once is fine. Twice. Hell, three times. But it literally became every other comment.
