I really enjoyed my time with the demo on PS4 (server disconnects aside). My only issue is, I feel silly to go out and pay full price on PS4 since it's free on Game Pass (and I don't have XBox). I almost find myself trying to justify that I should wait for a sale down the road.

Am I being petty and cheap?

Is it just me or is Jeff’s game audio a bit loud. I’m having a tough time hearing them talk over the gunshots and monsters dying

This is the most video game video game. Seems like they made no attempt at all to do anything unique with it whatsoever, just another grey sludge of a game. Like the whole thing was pre built assets all bolted together. Even if the story and visuals were the same they could have done something with gameplay some cool set of mechanics or abilities. Imagine if it had no guns and all ranged attack was cool summons or something that'd be fun.

Such a shame to see this from PCF as I adored Bulletstorm for its dumb writing and fun whip and score mechanics.

This game is very fun and it's funny that they've already had to nerf tricksters and technomancers. In terms of Jeff saying the other classes seem bad, he's almost right. I think techno is considered the most powerful (but less fun imo), then trickster and devastator is considered the worst for endgame.

I'm not one for conspiracies, well actually I am depending on the conspiracy, but I think we fellow gamers have been deceived!

We were told Anthem 2.0 was cancelled and that EA was shutting it down. Turns out, they sold the license to People May Fly and they changed the title to Outriders. That is what you are playing people, Anthem 2.0, but under a different name. While it is better than the original Anthem, it is still Anthem.

Yeah, they removed the flying around and killed the live service, but its the same game. Follow me people, its still freaking always online to play. I will create a Reddit and 4chan post to spread this truth!

FIGHT THE REAL ENEMY!

From the title, I assumed this was an open world survival game about a post-apocalyptic motorcycle club.

I’ve had a lot of fun with this personally. The combat, crafting and builds shine over the bad bits of the game.

There is more here than there was in anthem by miles and the developers placed some end game content that will go from lvl 30-50.

It’s not for everyone but for the some people it’s a blast.

The way matchmaking and multiplayer works in this game seems like placeholder systems that never got the focus or attention it needed. No balancing of loot or enemies for people at different levels. No playlists for expeditions. Overwriting story progress if you join someone else's game. All of it has a real "This will work until we do it properly" vibe.

I started this with my Tuesday game night group (the 3 of us have game pass and Xbox Ones) and we all like it quite a bit and are excited for next week. One of us has an original Xbox One and she thinks it plays fine. I think even if it has some weird quirks or bugs, we'll keep going since the action and progression and style is something we're way into so far.

There's something about this game I really like but I'm held back by the price atm, looks like a great 33%+ off grab.

At some point these are starting to make a Series S seem like an attractive proposition - once you factor in the cost of a controller (which I've been thinking about buying anyway for my PC) and even one GamePass game like this, you're looking at around £150 on top of that for the actual console.

Which is a pretty attractive value proposition - but at the same time I'm loath to encourage them to keep putting games on Xbox GamePass but not PC. I'm sure in most cases it comes down to licensing from the third-parties, but it's a real bummer for as good a service as PC GP is.

Tried playing on my Series X since it's on Game Pass and the game crashed 3 times, all before I could finish making a character. Thank god I didn't pay any money for it, full price is wayyyy too much.

what is with the constant putting down of "yuck brown" what compels people like brad to call out a basic color. Its a look brad deal with it .man where is my colorful rainbow paradise for a apocalyptic setting. Jeez if only they covered everything in snow so it could look like a billion other expansions that have came out that would really boost my morale.(IN A FUCKING APOCALYPSE!)

Looks like a budget Destiny clone had a baby with a Gears game from the 360 generation ; but at a time where gamers are desperate for ANY kind of new content, even B-tier dreck like this will achieve degrees of success where it normally wouldn't have.

This game isn't worth $60 USD, by a longshot.

When you've been seeing "yuck brown" for over twenty years in first person shooters, it's right to call it out.

20 minutes into this video and I'm bored. Not Jeff, Brad or Jason's fault, just the game is very much not my kind of game.

I am having a hard time beating expedition tier 10 as a technomancer solo and can't get anyone to join my game, and match making never seems to be able to find a game for me.

I'm using blighted rounds, blighted turret (freezing version), fixing wave and have maxed out armor (damage absorber, and mitigation from death) and even the mod that gives you more health when surrounded. I've tried tier 10 on chem plant, stargrave, and marshland cavern and things go pretty good until several elites and no adds to get ammo back show up. Once toxic rounds spare mag runs out it's game over for the damage (plus I run out of ammo trying to stay alive from weapon leech) and there is nothing I can do but wait 54 seconds, and having a team mate would make those 54 seconds manageable. I could possibly farm some more level 43 items, but at this point I only have 3 items that aren't level 43. I might switch out the on demand heal for the cryo turrets and see how that goes, but with this build I don't have extended duration on freeze etc.

So yeah, any one looking for a battle buddy?

The sound design in this game is ultra-obnoxious, it sounds kind of over-polished and everything is compressing against itself. I know they're going for a sound aesthetic but it's very fatiguing to listen to

Another game that's in vogue to shit on cause everyone else is doing it.

I've been having an absolute blast with the game aside from the occasional disconnects. I've found the classes to all feel unique and lend themselves to different playstyles, the loot drops have mods that meaningfully change the way I play and I've very much been enjoying being able to customize my mods to centre my build around whichever power I like.

Totally get that it looks like a division/destiny/gearsofwar mashup etc at first glance but I'm glad I gave it a shot. I think it does enough to differentiate itself gameplay wise to be a fun time.

This game looks like it probably feels much better to play at 60fps. On a One X even moving the cursor around the menus feels bad, much less trying to aim and shoot at stuff.

But I don't wanna spend $60 on the PC version...

It seems it's got what I feel like Destiny is missing in terms of deep character building that loot games should have. Shame that the style of the game is so meh.

There's something about this that is reminding me of the supposed first draft of the Gears 4 story. Something about it taking place eras after the original trilogy and how the COG was now a space faring civilization.

Am I allowed to shit on it if I played the demo a month ago and thought it sucked so much ass that I uninstalled it before I even finished it, or do you think that every negative opinion anybody could possibly have is only because they're trying to be 'popular' with other people?

deleted my comment to write something more valid, like, it's on gamepass you lose nothing on this terrible game, but do you gain the fun? that's up to you, but I would maybe advise against spending your allowance on this. Are allowances still a thing?

I always hate doing this, but.

This game is really bad, and advertising it as a PS5/Series X|S game is hilarious. If I was in a coma from 2013 and woke up today and the first thing I saw was Outriders, I could totally believe it was a PS3/360 game. Not even just visually, the pace of the fights, the aesthetic and the writing has this B tier 360 game vibe that I simultaneously loathe and miss at the time.

I do love the dialogue and acting in this game. It is all so wound up sphincter tight and involved with itself. Everybody is going to kill somebody else, and that is when they are at emotional baseline. Though not at all what I consider good, I do appreciate the rather ugly drama.

I hope Jeff ditches that slash ability for the blade spin at some point because I find it a lot more useful. It's like the slash, but lasts longer, regenerates health and perfect to do in a crowd of enemies.

Personally I go in with the "Hunt the Prey" put up my bubble, then blade spin and that's a pretty good strategy. I find only the bullet ability is good for fighting those bosses (because your other abilities can't really do much)

Hmm.. This is one of those games that adds truly nothing to the gaming landscape, yet i know that if i started playing it, i would have a good time. It's complete junkfood. get some people together, and shoot & ability your way from zone to zone and every 5 minutes quip on how you got an exciting color of loot. I do find myself missing the enemy reaction to bullets in these healthbar shooters though. We have all this amazing location based damage systems and animations that we can't put in these games because the enemies have to act like JRPG bosses with escalating attacks as the battle goes on, instead of being able to focus fire a leg off.

It's sort of surprising that a coop game like this still has so many cutscenes and tries to get you to care about it's story and characters, when it only gets in the way from catching up with friends and shooting things. But at the same time it feels like the cutscene crew was told that they had to get the point across within 2 minutes and no longer. Only that can explain how we went from tough guys capturing your crew > you confronting them > everyone joining up to meet a doctor > shooting new enemies for this doctor within 2 minutes of cutscenes.
