Pudge? Diablo? Ahhh games have ruined my understanding of normal terms.

It's kind of hard to tell what's going on outside of lots of blood and murder.

It seems like this game could benefit a lot from showing you clearly what you can shoot through and what you cannot shoot through, maybe a change in reticle shape or colour?

Looks to be Soldat-like.

Something about the way the enemies teleport in seems a bit cheap. Other games do it and it seems fine but it seems weirdly unforgiving and abrupt here.

This looks pretty cool, looks a lot like old amiga games aesthetically, but with more frames.

the cursor control reminds me of the game abuse

I think when the guys are running around stunned with the health icons over their heads it means you can kill them with the chainsaw for health.

My favorite quick looks are the ones for games I've never heard of that make me want to play the game real bad. This is one of those quick looks.

This game looks pretty cool.

Game has a little Bruce Lee C64 look to it.

(Actually, I guess "violent Lemmings" is just Lemmings at times. Eh, you know what I mean.)

Does this only support 320 x 240 or......?

it really hurts me to look at this game ... if it had non pixelated graphics I would be all into it but its just hard to look at and not pleasant on the eyes. I guess I don't like when I have to "trick my eyes" into thinking there is nothing wrong when there clearly is. This looks awful with the pixelated graphics style.

If this was smoothed up ALA castlevania on the DS type of colors it would be amazing looking. Why do this to your games developers?

I'd love to play this game if I could use a controller.

One of the developers (Michał Marcinkowski) made Soldat. This new studio of his seems to keep making games as close to Soldat as possible without actually being Soldat. Check out King Arthur's Gold and Trench Run.

Can confirm this game is excellent.

Definitely need to be moving constantly though, standing still for any period of time will get you killed quickly.

so time to breaking brad on this game? I really don't get these so hard they make you want to scream at the screen games but man do I have fun watching other people play them and scream at the screen.

I just bought this to see if I am better at it than Vinny.

@robthefrog: I get that the art style is not very original, but would you prefer the game didnt exist at all? Without a simplistic art style the dev likely wouldnt be able to release anything at all. Upside of the dev using it we get to experience their ideas for game mechanics?

To me it seems more of a callback to the early Doom, Quake, unreal games. I don't see them as "pixel" art but "pixelated" art, if that makes sense. I think it looks great. Pixel art is crappy when it's generic and looks like yet another pixel art indie RPG. This doesn't exactly look original but it's different from most of the stuff on the market with pixel art.

I wonder if that would work. It seems so fast paced. I dunno maybe you could pull it off, but it seems like the twitch response of a mouse would be important for this.

I don't think it looks like total garbage, necessarily, but the game is really, really muddy. Everything is brown and nothing really stands out. Well, ammo, health, and armor pickups seem to stand out, but nothing else does, even your player character.

Think I just found my game for October.

2D Quake is a real apt description for this game. Just finished the first world and the shooting and jumping feels fantastic. Real frantic just like Quake is.

I can see why people don't like the muddy pixelated look of it, personally I love it.

Abuse was inspired by Alien3 and Team17's Alien Breed series. However, it was one of the first of its kind when talking about the speed, fidelity and high fueled action.

That being said, this game looks like Liero meets Abuse with a hint of Quake for the absurd amount of gore.

This seems like a weird mesh between Bro Force, Risk of Rain, and DOOM.

I like the aesthetic but I'm not sure I'd find this fun? Might pick it up if it ever gets real cheap on a Steam sale.
