Looks like Patrick has died and gone to Pig Heaven, amirite?

What's the big deal? If something like this came out on 360 it would have achievements. Seems like a no brainer to me.

According to this quick look, this guy died after he didn't hit a pig, turned around to hit the pig in his car, and then got ran over. Glorious.

I love moral choices of being good or bad at throwing a ball.

Do you mean this does not have trophies? Because it do. I got a coupe of them playing through this.

It's a really neat experience but it's kind of sad that most of the Move stuff feel tech-demo:ee. There are some nice spots where you really feel promise for a puzzle aspect but they don't do so much with out. it's wierd thing and it's over in 2-3 hours. I like the vibe it has but think execution could been better. I also love the music. It's super nice.

@Dogma: I didn't say it doesn't have trophies. In the video (context!) Patrick started to act like it was a questionable decision for Sony to add trophies to these games. My point was that if it came out on 360 it would have achievements; its not a big deal.

That disembodied hand is just creepy. I think Datura sounded more interesting than it actually looks.

Well, this seems real weird but kinda cool. I like the atmosphere.

OK, I don't like the new video player (is that the same Gamespot uses?). It doesn't let me watch in HD, and randomly starts playing another video than I selected.

It's really nice to see sony supporting these types of games, almost makes me want to get a PS3.

Pretty sure it is. There's some calls to GameSpot in the source code I think, mostly just the "wrapper" for the video content. I am no web dev, so this is just from browsing the source looking for "gamespot."

It doesn't seem like a huge deal, really, but I hope they're not being made to use the same player. I really never enjoyed any videogame websites' proprietary video players except GB's. IGN, Gamespot, you name it.. they all kinda suck.

OK, it's a bit weird the way they're describing the demoscene (and demos) here. Jeff did seem to have some knowledge on the subject (64k demos and s3m, xm, it and mod music are indeed well known things from the scene), but then they seemed to compare it to Quake mods and stuff like that, which really aren't very similar. Demos don't really have much to do with games, other than that they are real-time rendered computer things. Demos are pretty much always non-interactive, more like computer generated videos or presentations, they generally are about doing and showing off technically complicated things, like advanced visual effects with the least amount of code and CPU usage (in the early days, it was a lot of real-time rendering of 3D graphics, especially with then complex effects like reflections, dynamic shadows and manipulation/morphing of geometric shapes - today it tends to be more about GPU shader programming, or doing really complicated stuff on very old hardware - like real-time focus effects, HDR and motion blur on 20 year old Amiga or even Commodore 64 computers, and demos are released for Ti-86 calculators and the Atari 2600). The skills programmers learn by doing that stuff are of course applicable to game development - there is a reason a lot of European game developers started off in the piracy/cracking/demoscene, but demos themselves can't even be considered games by any definition.

It's not just odd things like this that comes out of the demoscene though - Starbreeze, Avalanche, Psygnosis (Sony Liverpool), Remedy Entertainment, DICE and IO Interactive are only a few of the many major developers that started out as demo groups or were founded by members of such groups, and members of major pirate groups like Razor 1911 are heavily involved in many game development studios.

I'm piecing together the narrative here, and that's actually making me want to see more of this game. Unfortunately, I don't have a PS3, so...

i'm not a fan of this new player you can't skip to different parts of a video, you can't pause or play with the spacebar and it doesn't like to play videos in HD.

This com.com player friggin sucks ass, Im pretty sure its the same player Gamespot uses. If the GiantBomb dudes use it cause its easier then the youtube stuff then its all good guess Ill have to get used to it, but if their using it because Gamespot forces them to for whatever reason (ex. advertisements), then Im afraid its the first major sign of bad things to come.

probably because it's PS3...but don't get me wrong, I love PS3, but their games are often beautiful yet still suffer from severe lack of anti-aliasing.
