A sickening DLC having read reports of the content actually in it, the vast majority reusing stuff from the main game. £20 in the UK. Insane.

It works fine here, so probably on your end. Or, if you're using the YT player that might be the issue, it's not on YT; switch to the HTML5 player instead, that should work.

There's so little content in this DLC it's laughable. Most of it is two raids which will not be accessible for vast majority of people (who has time to gather 5 other people and play these?? give me matchmaking or bots to play this content). Solo missions are short and boring, and there's like 3 new rooms in them. No new enemies. No cutscenes. No new areas. It's just couple of new "quest" bounties, like the Queen ones - and those were free. For this price it's just ridiculous.

I really hope Destiny wins most disappointing. Although there are some strong contenders; Watch_Dogs and Titanfall came out this year too.

Glad I sold this game and got the majority of my money back!

I don't own a console and don't really have any problem with this game ... but that second mission was just "go to point and kill some dudes" ... is that actually how most of this game plays?

A whole week waiting for new content (excluding UPF) and its more Destiny!? I added all the GB coverage of Destiny up and it comes to 18 hours. That's kind of overkill. i know it was one of the biggest most anticipated games of the past few years but for a mediocre game that is especially uninteresting to watch that is overkill.

The new raid is actually pretty awesome... We were in for 6 hours yesterday and got to the last part. about to finish it tonight.

There is a part in this new one that you can't carry someone through it. If they mess up there part, you have to wipe and start it over.

Might be time to trade this game in. It was novel and fun for a while, and I don't mind the grind, but I can't bring myself to pay good money to keep up with everyone else.

I don't really understand why people want to wish ill on something just because they didn't like it. Destiny lacked content, sure, but it was still fun enough that tons and tons of people put in hundreds of hours into it anyways. From a hours to dollars ratio, I technically got the most out of money from Destiny, then any other game this year. Do I wish there was more to it? Of course, but games like Titanfall were far more spartan in their content and deserve that title way more then Destiny does.

The vast majority of that content is them playing Destiny in their free time (the initial double stream of Brad and Jeff playing, and the raid stream) and streaming on their personal Twitch channels to people who want to watch, and then uploading the Twitch archives on the site. It's not like it has taken away from any other content, and feel free to ignore it.

As for the QLs, it's still a huge game, and at least Brad enjoys it. So...

Again, end game Destiny (which is the point of this expansion) is about the gear and the raid. The added gear and weapons look pretty sweet to me and I've gotten a taste of the raid. It was fantastic.

And to the people complaining that the don't have 5 friends, the boards on bungie.net or whatever are super active and it takes maybe 5 minutes to find a group to raid with. Groups are always looking for a 6th. We've filled out a team from there multiple times and rarely had a bad experience.

$10 would be a fair price for the new missions/strikes/gear

There's 1 raid. There ARE two strikes, which is what you might be thinking of, these are the three-player do-op missions that do have matchmaking. The missions are short, but I wouldn't classify them as boring, especially the third one. The two story missions (not counting the first one, since it's not classifed as a story mission by the game) take place in previously unreachable areas, so I'd consider those new areas. One of them has a new boss, and the raid has new bosses as well. I do wish there were cutscenes and new regular enemies though.

As for finding a group for raids, it's way easier than you'd think. There's actually a GB community clan (Lincoln Force) you can find on the forums if you want to play with other duders, and there's several popular LFG websites (destinylfg.com and destinylfg.net, /r/fireteams, etc.) that you can use to find groups pretty much any time. I play in one of the the Penny Arcade forums clans, Pax Arcadia, and there's pretty much always people on.

There's also three new PvP maps, which to me helps justify the price. If it was ONLY PvE or ONLY PvP then yeah, $20 would be more ridiculous, like you said. But I feel that since it has content for both, and some of the PvE content is really good, that justifies the price.

I wrote a really long comment and the site dumped it when I posted it so ill just say this.

$20 = 1/3rd cost of base game

Expansion = About 25% of base game = Base game was lacking in content

Destiny has no story and terrible sync issues in competitive MP.

Destiny is by far the most disappointing game in 2014.

Destiny is all pretty and stuff but Firefall or Defiance are still the better games. Destiny is just so shallow.

See the very beginning of the first mission shows my issues with Destiny. Bullet sponge enemies are never an enjoyable boss type, and to me always feel like more of a chore than anything. Kind of where my issues with Borderlands arise from.

I'm already really looking forward to the discussions about where this game should place on their GOTY list. (Personally I don't think it should place at all.)

More Destiny is more Destiny is (a little) more Destiny. Kind of disappointing that you have coverage of this up before anything on, say, The Crew, to be honest.

I'm pretty much in this boat, I don't play the raids in this game, don't care enough about the game to grind just to get to a level, I figure I'll get there one day and may try a raid, but as someone who doesn't want to be responsible for causing a team to not finish a raid, or have the desire to communicate with those teammates which seems like it would definitely be necessary it's just not something I want to pay for.

I have zero desire to play much crucible it's good for a break every once and a while but not extended use, the standard maps are more than enough for me

So leaving just 3 story missions and 2 strikes and gear which again I'm not even level 23 so there is tons of gear for me in the base game makes $20 absolutely out of the question, if had of been priced out the way you suggested with a bundle price of $20 if you wanted all three they would have likely made a sale(maybe $15 for both raid and story stuff?), though even 10 dollars for that content seems steep to me, I'd feel good about getting just the story missions and strikes with access to the new gear for 8 or 9 dollars, I know that seems even dumber than the difference between $15 and $20 but that seems about what it's worth

Oh well I figure if it ever comes down to a blowout deal I'll pick it up otherwise Destiny isn't the game for me, I don't regret buying it, I still find it fun despite it's flaws just not the type of player destiny was made for, and that's OK

@orborborb: I would not pay ten dollars for any of that. Well maybe for strikes and gear... Untill I find out the strikes are recycled areas on the moon. Do people actually pay ten dollars for a few multiplayer maps?

Also don't forget, that they're charging Xbox players the same amount as Playstation players, for less content. Fuck Destiny.

Yup, can't say I got into Firefall, but Destiny gave me a new appreciation for Defiance. I regularly jump on just to do a series of arkfalls or incursion missions. Other than the player mobility, I think Defiance does pretty much everything better, and I don't even like third person games.

Is it just me or is there a sound effect from Wind Waker around 31:10?

Had fun playing destiny, and will continue to play from time to time. NOT buying DLC. I will not give them more money for this content. I will play the raid once a week or so and play some pvp.

People talk about the raid being great and it takes 6 hours, but in 2 weeks everyone will have all the tricks figured out and it will be same has first raid. I'm glad the some what fixed the first raid cause I was tired of just cheesing the boss of a cliff. I want to play the game not find a glitch and exploit it.
