Quick Look: Funky Barn

Something about the way this game looks makes me think of WarCraft 2...

Wow... this Quick Look actually totally lined up with IGN's review. That it's pretty much super, super cheap - obviously a "budget game" in terms of production (and c'mon; does 505 publish anything that ISN'T a budget game?). But that it's not necessarily a bad game. This looked like a totally serviceable and actually sort of fun - and functional (that's important to note on Nintendo's weird new hardware) - psuedo strategy game! I'm... kind of impressed. Vaguely reminded me of Viva Pinata, which bodes well for the Wii U Hardware. Now, all we need is someone to MAKE something like Viva Pinata for the thing!

Of course, it sucked that it locked up. And that it IS super cheap. The art screams, "I should be $4.99 on a Steam sale!". I mean, c'mon - this is clearly cartoony, so what's with the "military fatigues" color palette. Have you never heard of "bright green" or "lawn green", Tantalus? Tsk, tsk.

This would likely be a great eShop game. Shame it's a physical, retail game that's going for full price though.

This looks like a bag of awful. I mean funk. Yes, funk.

This game does not look like it will be adding to my current levels of funk.

I still can't believe that a game like this got released pretty much day one for the Wii-U. It's like Nintendo just doesn't care what shovelware garbage gets released onto their consoles.

Everyone should watch Jeff play this game for 4 hours. If anyone needs a time warp back to 2012: here ya go! We're about a week away from the 2 year golden anniversary.

I don't know what we actually hoped for out of Funky Barn, but this wasn't quite it.
This is more Barn and less Funky than what I wanted, at least.
