Does this look dramatically better than MLB 14? I mean I bought that when I got my PS4 but have played it like three times...so maybe I shouldn't think about upgrading.

GiantBomb sports game quicklooks take about 5min to derail. Not that there's anything wrong with that but I was counting down until it became, hit the batter, gameplay. It didn't take long

@jeff uh no, there is no serious incident in hockey where some intentionally attacked another player with his skate blade. Maybe there is some obscure incident out there on youtube but I don't believe it has happened in professional hockey.

@crunksmcgee: I'm English and even I know what amateur wrestling means. Amateur is just unpaid and for real, regardless of whether it's Greco, freestyle, collegiate, folk, catch. Pro is fake and paid.

About Dan saying that NASCAR driver murdered a guy. What happened was one of the drivers wiped out, was pissed off, climbed out of his buggy and went out on the track with active racers. A few buggies were able to swerve and avoid him as it's difficult on a dark corner of a dirt track and then he was struck. It was found to be the his own fault as he went out on the track.

Perhaps he was thinking of Happy Gilmore, where he talks about getting kicked off the team for taking his skate off and trying to stab someone with it.

Or perhaps he is thinking of the Clint Malarchuk injury where his carotid artery was severed

Or perhaps more recently when Zednik got his throat cut

@honkalot:

Baseball players (I believe they do in other sports as well, but I've only played baseball) wear plastic guards to protect their... unmentionables. It does make it look like that in real life.

Believe me, you would really regret it if you forgot to wear one.

graphics look nearly identical to last years. It'll only take a true step up when they cut the cord on the PS3 version of the game. Definitely passing on it this year.

Still annoying that they don't model player tattoos (ie. Lawrie on Oakland). Even if you can't model the exact image, at least put something similar

Dan hits a sac fly to the outfield, advancing the runner.

Jeff: "I thought I caught that?"

"Did Nolan Ryan ever bean anyone?"

What a silly question, Nolan Ryan is responsible for one of the most famous beanings of all time! Not only did the then-46-year-old Nolan Ryan bean a 26-year-old Robin Ventura, he then proceeded to put him in a headlock and beat the living shit out of him.

Loading Video...

I'm a White Sox fan but holy hell, Nolan Ryan was a tough motherfucker.

No idea what Dan is talking about, this is visually atrocious. It's not trying to simulate real life (as if you were at the stadium... at least I hope not) and it's not really trying to simulate watching it on tv (except for the ui which is sharp) it's just bad lighting, bad materials, poor looking characters, unnatural transitions.

It looks and feels soulless.

Also glad KC lost; too many of those hicks were shitting up SF last year. Go Giants.

I know they comment on it in the video, but the framerate... is that okay? Are we just letting that slide? Every single transition plummets and it's incredibly distracting.

As both a massive sports fan and massive video game fan, I have to say that it is so good to have even some cursory sports talk in my Quick Looks. TALK TO ME MORE ABOUT 90's BASEBALL PLAYERS JEFF AND DAN!

ALSO FUCK YES TALK MORE ABOUT CINCINNATI AND THE REDS! Skyline Chili for LIFE.

Around 34:00 they mention Stewart that killed that other driver in a sprint car race and he "Got away with it"

I'm a racer myself, and while I don't care for NASCAR or the driver who was involved in the incident, that was not murder. The driver that was run over was wearing ALL BLACK during a NIGHT TIME race. The safety rules regulate that if your car is disabled in a crash or something of that nature, unless it's on fire, you must remain in the car until the race stewards determine it's safe for you to get out and walk off the track.

Instead, the driver that was killed was outside of his car while other cars were circling under a yellow flag. He was ANGRY and pointing and screaming at another driver as if he were trying to start some kind of on-track fight with someone once his car came around. Again, he was wearing BLACK during a NIGHT RACE.

He was very difficult to see and he was WALKING AROUND AN ACTIVE RACETRACK. It wasn't murder, it was his stupidity. Stewart was looking around the turn (away from the outside of the turn). He was turning his car by rotating the wheel completely to the left and spinning the rear wheels to make it slide sideways. (Those cars aren't made to turn like normal cars.) The driver who was walking on the racetrack was on Stewart's RIGHT SIDE (again, Stewart was turning left so he was looking left), it's all dark on the right side of the track, therefore the other driver blended into the background, and Stewart hit the other driver and killed him. It was an accident, and any other driver could have killed that man.

I suggest you guys check your facts before you go around calling people murderers... That really doesn't look good on you. I know you were speaking casually, but that can often lead to legal troubles.
