Ive never watched a quick look and wanted a game more, ride around killing dudes, get money, kill more dudes, build small army, killl more dudes. im sold. just tried to buy it off ebay and it said its not avaible in the uk until june 3rd though. nuts.

I picked up Warband the other day, and after watching this I think I should really check it out. M&B seems to combine the precise action RPG controls and sense of progression from lowly peasent to mighty über-lord which I love so much about the Gothic series with layers upon layers of additional "space sim"-esque content.

Why didn't the bandits steal the cattle? Wasn't that the whole point of the attack?

No. All enemy parties in the game automatically follow you to try to capture you if you get close enough and don't have a more substantial force than theirs. The cattle are irrelevant.
