I thought the coming up box said Rime and was surprised that came out already. This looks fun though.

@steveurkel: For some reason the video seems to be gone from the GB servers, and my memory is fuzzy, but I think the gist of it was that Kessler's wallet was real busted and disgusting and everyone kept bashing him for it.

I really wish this game was better. By level 7 or 8 it just turns into a huge slog with every combat arena becoming more frustrating than actually hard.

You made it to level 7? Impressive. I'm feeling the slog around level 3.

I'd refund except the dev's have announced that the success of this game will make-or-break their studio at this point.

Toki Tori 2: A Cute Little Puzzle Platformer...

(Actually a hardcore open world puzzle game similar to Stephen's Sausage Roll or The Witness)

Im SO glad you can turn the vo off in this game.

Also on the demo on the wii U the controls seemed WAY better to me,aiming and moving with the sticks feels super squirrely on ps4. Not sure how the full version on wiiU feels as I bought it on ps4, maybe its just that the wiiu sticks feel better for this game.

Hope it does well.

I bought this on PC on release day after trying it at PAX. I'm almost done with it and have really enjoyed it a lot. They do a great job of introducing new mechanics in each level so it doesn't get too stale. The difficulty does feel a bit unfair at times but it's satisfying when you eek out a difficult level or boss.

The writing is pretty cringey if you don't like the whole "hey look at us, we're a videogame making fun ourselves!" shtick, but it's easy enough to ignore it.

Hey Dan which are you enjoying more? This or Sky Force Anniversary? I'm kinda guessing Sky Force.

We tend to have pretty similar taste. I'm looking for something to shorten the wait for Civilization VI and Battlefield 1 a little.

Refunding games just because you don't like it is not nice imo. I only get refunding for actual technical issues.

I love that Quick Looks are short again!

I'm usually a "quality over quantity" kind of dude, but I do think producing more, shorter quick looks is better than just a few very long ones. It gives you more diverse content at a steadier pace. Not every quick look appeals to everyone, so more quick looks increase the chances people will find something they want to see. etc.

@drpotato: @steveurkel: Soup Wallet comes from Seinfeld, in which George has this huge, gross wallet that he keeps everything in, and Jerry calls it "Soup Wallet"

Kessler showed his wallet in a video way back when he was interning here, and his wallet got called a soup wallet, as well.

The developers of this games are so strange, they seem to somehow undermine their games with one major flaw.

Toki Tori 2 is a masterpiece, a hardcore open world puzzle game undermined by the aesthetics of a kids game.

Rive seems incredible but I was immediately turned off by the difficulty and the unnecessarily long combat arenas.

I hope they keep making games though.

@santiagocr: Well they said they are done and are retiring so, who knows. Maybe its like in wrestling where a guy retires and then 8 months later gets the itch to hold an oily man in his arms...

I have to say that visually, the way the lights glean and damage effect pop in and out of existence. The overall 2D look of this game is what Mighty Number 9 should have looked like instead the dull 3D game they ended up making. This game looks pretty fun, might check it out.

I remember reading a story about the Toki Tori developers at some point. Something about how launching Toki Tori 2 on the same day as a Steam Sale messed up it's chance for success. Oh well.

I will play this simply because it was made by the same people who created Toki Tori. That game was incredible, especially for puzzle aficionados like myself.
