File not found on the HD download. :(

Edit: I found it. Date was wrong in link. All videos in the drop down are affected as well as the video player, not just the HD version. Replace the /03/31/ with /04/01/ and it works. I doubt they're in the office yet (way early in the morning in PT), so I put the rest below for those interested with premium access, YouTube for those without.

From the Quick Look this is one surprisingly charming post-apocalypse.

Lots of good bits. Wonder if the tone persist.

Huh, I had no idea this game existed. I played Primordia on a whim recently and I really enjoyed it, so I think I'll pick this one up.

Wadjet Eye games have characters that are mostly dry exposition-heavy dialogue speakers or a few clever and interesting like ones like Cheffie.

I really like the look of this game. Seems like it nails the visual style of games like Gabriel Knight 1 and King's Quest 6.

Turns out that a human body doesn't need anywhere near 20 years to decompose if exposed to the elements. Actually, if anything, that one is in relatively good shape for just sitting out in the open. A buried body, no coffin, takes a little longer than a decade. With a coffin, it can take around a half a century. It's actually pretty unrealistic in the Fallout series how damn intact all those people are when they've spent well over a century exposed to extremely harsh elements.

Which people are we talking about? Living people? Ghouls? Because all of the corpses you find in the ancient, bombed-out ruins of the previous age are all basically skeletons-wearing-rags.

On topic, Wadjet-Eye games always call to mind the Sierra Adventure games, and that's a Good Thing (tm).

@dasakamov: The skeletons wearing rags, posed in the position they were in immediately at the time of death. It's not really a criticism at all, just something I'm kind of acknowledging. Based on the pictures I saw of decayed animals, skeletons themselves mostly decomposed/fell apart without the tissue to bond the pieces together.

In case they weren't joking about not knowing who the historical Danton was, Georges Danton was the populist leader who kicked the French Revolution into high gear, paving the way for the Reign of Terror to which he himself eventually fell victim.

This game seems a lot more stoic than a lot of Wadjet Eye games, at least Gemini Rue, Resonance, and Primordia. Haven't played the Blackwell games so I can't speak to those, but maybe it's just the lack of party members in this one. Like Kane, Bennett and Crispin in particular sprinkle bits of humour in those games' similarly dour worlds.

Ooh, Alex, the Stephen King drumbeat thing was in The Wasteland, not The Stand. It's the drums from "Velcro Fly," which is a goddamned hilarious idea.

Between the narrator voice and the accompanying music, I got some serious Diablo vibes from the opening monologue. Reminded me of the intro cinematic to the first game, what with the crow and all.

I used to be big into adventure games, loved all the Lucasarts and Sierra stuff, but I felt it lost all its charm when it moved away from the verbs and became one or two button interactions and I drifted away from it. This is the first Wadget Eye game I've ever seen and visually it's very nostalgic for me, reminded me a lot of Heart of China so I gave it a go, and while it's not an amazing adventure game it's a mostly competent one that was interesting enough that I finished it in one sitting because I wanted to see where the story was going. Turns out, not anywhere revolutionary or particularly memorable, but the experience was fun enough. The puzzles are basic but logical, though there's a couple instances where the solution is to examine something you've already examined and been told there was nothing special.

I don't know if Wadjet Eye games have deaths, but I know you can die in Gemini Rue and Resonance. I remember in the QL, they went into that store where there was a gunman and got shot to death. Also in Gemini Rue there's a part where armed guards are searching for you and it turns out they really are and if they find you they shoot you to death.

So it seems like these games have like, maybe one or two actual ways to die. Kinda like LucasArts games, which famously made it really hard/impossible to die.

Really not digging the faux retro pixelated look and game mechanics. Of course, I feel that appealing to nostalgia is the cheapest trick, so this whole branch of indie games is not for me. More games that fail to appeal than ever before.

The setting they created for this game seem cool. Not really something I'd play through, though.
