Neat idea, but that color scheme is too rough for me (and the other options look worse). Also, even at $10 there doesn't seem to be enough game to it.

This looks neat, in the style of a slimmed down Black Closet or a Long Live the Queen, but visually unappealing to the extent that the colour schemes turned me right off it.

Played this after watching the quicklook, ok quick (couple hours) experience, but these color schemes are fucked up. I used the second one (called poison ivy) and now all my vision has a pinkish tint, especially the whites. It's quite annoying.

For those with issues re: color schemes—I heavily stand by the yellow and blue being the correct one for the game's tone but a black and white option will be patched into the game shortly. Some folks have experienced slight dizzyness so we're looking to offer an option for that. <3

I don't think I could go back to that original Gameboy color scheme, but it is the best of what they offer.

If I can make a suggestion (for whatever that's worth) since a dev is on here. Instead of shooting for just a black and white scheme, you have a really awesome almost e-ink look to the game. If you look at Kindles or Nooks (especially older ones) they aren't exactly black and white, and more of a paperback book paper and ink look. I think this would fit in really well with the game.

Weird dark little game. Makes me think on how prevalent human sacrifice was in so many cultures. Besides to appease whatever god or gods be happening, it had many other benefits such as terrifying ones enemies, population control both political and physical, and getting rid of malcontents and potential threats to those in power. In fact human sacrifice is most always exercised by the ruling class over the rest of the population.

No surprise it's in the bible

Actually, colorblindness has almost zero effect on the default color scheme. It only makes the elements marked with red very hard to see. Which is really bad because those are the elements you need to pay attention to the most in this game!

I'd also think this would actually be harder on non-colorblind people because we're used to seeing more colors, but I think the extreme saturation and contrast can be bothersome for both here cause it's hard on my eyes too.

This game was cool, but: did anyone else find it really easy, or was I just really lucky? I beat it on my first playthrough, and I am not usually good at these kinds of games.

This looks pretty interesting. Thinking of picking it up soon. I dig that aesthetic and I also like the fact that different color schemes are available (especially since I'm rather visually impaired and certain color combinations appear blurrier than others).

Really dig the look and vibe. Even the description of cult management game sounded really cool... but this... eh...

Seems like an interesting take on a god game, almost like a god game that's more like a boardgame. Just doesn't feel very engaging or deep. Shame really, it sounded and looked so cool.

Awesome concept, not a great execution.

For some reason everyone has exactly 1 positive trait and 1 negative trait. Having events pop up like 'find the liar' and learning that it doesn't actually matter to the game apart from checking it off, seems dissapointing. You want those events to at least carry some meaning.

The matron / patrons don't seem to matter in the grand scheme of things. They get an entire half of the screen devoted towards them, but they seem to be not much more than 'house mascots'.

Also, each house is tied to one quality. Surely, in a real cult you want each family to have a good mixture of all the qualities of a cult. Not have a house that coasts by on ignorance but is not showing any signs of obedience.

I dislike how little personality the characters have. There are portraits, and that's that. No flavor text, no fun random events that give depth to the characters. No cutscenes, no voice overs. All there is are the portraits and the traits.

I just wish there was more to discovering traits than just clicking the button. You could even have random events pop up with all kind of story related stuff in it, and you would have to write down your own suspicions of the character traits. At that point it's more of a mystery game i guess, but it would be more fun than just having to press a button.

Finally, i don't like how every familytree is the same. I guess it's done because the creator didn't want to have smaller portraits on certain screens or something? Anyways, it's just an illogical choice. Especially in a cult i would expect to see some interesting and diverse family hierarchies.

I hope more people take the idea of running a cult and make better games out of it. Because i do think that the idea behind this game is awesome. Crusader Kings x State of Decay x Darkest Dungeon
