Quick Look: Trials of the Blood Dragon

This echos the same misconception that people on Steam have which is generating some severe negativity for this game, that the game is meant to be a pure Trials game first, and a Blood Dragon game second. Having no particular love for Trials itself and going at it purely from the desire to get more dumb Blood Dragon stuff, it's an otherwise decent enough game, and serves as a good enough vessel for more Blood Dragon. I can understand why Trials purists would get upset about it, and in truth maybe they should have done something with the naming to make that more apparent, but it is what it is now.

That said, when's Assassins Creed: Blood Dragon?

When this got announced at E3 I was ready to buy it that same day. I ended up getting distracted and then a day or two later when the initial impressions came in, I'm glad I didn't. This thing just looks terrible at every turn. Trials Evo was one of my top 10 games of the last generation, and while Fusion wasn't as impactful, it was still really damn good. Then Redlynx decided to just throw it all away and make this mess which isn't good enough at any one thing to be enjoyable. I don't even get what crowd they're making this for.

I feel like we've definitely reached the "me too" era of the synthwave trend. Recent stuff like this or Neon Drive are starting to feel a lot more like "testing shows this plays really well with our demographic."

2/2 bangin' Blood Dragon soundtracks...I hope this is a solid trend for Power Glove :D

Yeah I actually enjoyed it and thought it was cool. Got it right away because I loved Trials Fusion. Lots of people are hating on this, but it's fun!

@icd9: Thanks for the link to the playlist! Been wanting more Outrun to listen to. Been really into Mitch Murder, Kavinsky, Carpenter Brut, Com Truise etc for a while but I needed more.
I still find it weird how much I love this style, as I borderline hate electronica. I'm one of those "I like it heavy and Tool is the best band in the world"-assholes, so it's kind of a mystery.

Trials is dead, they released an editor that's all you need. Just add new texture packs, that is all. No point making new games.

As someone who doesn't have any friends (on or off XBL) this game is what I want. The other Trials games got too frustrating and with no real reason to keep playing I stopped rather quickly. This one at least has something to keep me going.

If they expand this to Assassin's Creed it will need to be named Assassin's Blood Creed Dragon, or ABCD for short.

This is some major vapor wave sh*t...and it isn't even a good version of it. A bad Adult Swim episode. I wonder if the dev thought this is where Trials would end up.

@paulunga: I felt like both quick looks did a pretty decent job of reporting on the games without being overly negative. Both were took a negative view because they dont like the games, but they didnt just shit on them. Mighty Number 9 especially i thought they were good about saying "here is the stuff in this game, if youre interested its there, but personally I think its lame."
