Loved the intro especially after last episode was titled "Magnet Pervs" when remembering what Joseph & Abvol do in episode 31.

edit: Oh right! TBH, I watched these way back and I forgot episode 32 & 33 were THAT stand battle.

I can't believe they called Goku horny, Goku doesn't know what kissing is.

Now Roshi and Oolong on the other hand...

Also, did anyone else notice that Alessi’s axe literally has the word “ax” engraved into it?

Perhaps THE wierdest entry in the Fighter here.

Less "zoner" and more "coward" lol

My first introduction to JJBA was Capcom's fighting game. Alessi could use his stand to depower opponents, transforming most of them into younger forms with weakened attacks. Some would change into other characters, like Mariah turning into the old lady that was sweet on Joseph. Even without context, I thought it was neat, like how Anakaris would curse opponents into tiny version.

JoJo's Bizarre Adventure - Alessi All stand transformations

As I watched through the anime years later, I started to realize how extensive the references in game were. It was cool to see how attacks and special moves were adapted. But when I got to Alessi's episodes, he was much more repulsive than I ever imagined. I liked him better when I didn't know what his deal was.

I completely forgot about bathtime with the lady. As creepy as Alessi is, that was way more uncomfortable. Definitely felt secondhand embarrassment from Jeff's experience. Maybe the idea was that putting a child in precarious situations was okay because it's everyone's favorite punching bag, Polnareff. Nah, still super awkward. A real low point in the back half for me.

Cyborg 006 of Cyborg 009 fame saves the team by burning tunnels in the ground with his fire breath I'd say the science checks out perfectly.

Oh, Jeff. You have no idea what anime fans watch and are willing to defend. This episode is honestly pretty low on the scale. If you are wondering how something like this episode ended up on Netflix, you should give Devilman: Crybaby a watch... And just to be clear - that show has some actual redeeming features, unlike 95 percent of the content on Cunchyroll.

EDIT: Now that I think about it, even something "mainstream" like Evangelion has some genuinely messed up stuff, both in the show itself and the movies.

@theonewhoplays: Dang was hoping they'd watch chainsaw man next, seemed up john's alley in a way where it isn't anime (for someone new to anime) aka more Westernized (the director wanted it to be more, "real" which annoys anime people, so it would be nice to see his reaction) with less overacting and sweat marks and falling exaggerating battles more Tarantino. But he seems like he will instantly turn it off like many who saw the hype and got a knee-jerk well this is just silly sexualization stuff no wonder people like this, it panders, and over violence for violence’s sake, those types of takes, (dropped episode 2 overhyped).

Thou, it may work out if they have someone on staff who watched it entirely and knows it's more about exploring sexuality for those ill-equipped due to circumstances and upbringing and ends on a journey more original than the usual hero defeats villain trope and learns friendship matters. It can go either way. Jojo for example even with the taboo (I'd include taboo as violence even though people overlook violence in American media consumption) early jojo is more entertainment and not taking things seriously like a comedian that makes a weight joke...harmful but i don't think such comedian is dying on the hill that they meant harm by it. JOJO part 7 seems to be the most liked and one with a clear, powerful theme. Maybe part 4 too...with justice being served in a quiet town. Destiny in part 5 is more intangible, and part 3 is just the journey not the destination so it's hit or miss if people will like the themes and jokes along the way, which like this episode, get taboo for western viewers vs eastern generally.

PS: If they recorded each week they'd be up to part 5, middle, by now. lol.

What’s funny is I just listened to the intro about being cancelled for an episode and then watched them. I genuinely thought they were talking about the first one until the bath scene started in the second one, lol
