This was outstanding. You did a great job of explaining your thought process the entire time which is often super hard on a solo gameplay. Can't wait for the next one.

I haven't played in a while, but... can't you just open the chests without having to hit them? Action+Up, or something like that?

It's something you have to get used to around here, sadly.

That was a pretty fantastic run given that he was talking over it the whole time. Oh Brad, I believe you're good at games, but we'll never get to see it in Spelunky or anything else, because you're so self-conscious and/or especially not able to talk and play simultaneously.

If only he had just gone in the hole he created instead of pussing out and messing up bomb throws, he might've done it. Or he could've just sat there for like 20 minutes, waiting for Olmec to make just the right jump to fall in the hole, but that would've made for a boring stream.

I like difficult games but this game... I cannot. I have tried. I did. Spelunky does bad things to my brain. Everything super dangerous + item scarcity + time limitation = me flying into a controller throwing banging head against the wall rage guaranteed within 20 minutes loading up the game. It ruins me for the rest of the day, too. I have never encountered another game that does this to me. I'm usually patient and easy going about games, even very difficult ones.

I was kind of excited to watch this until I remembered Patrick uses his webcam in his videos. I don't know why streamers and LPers do that; it's like they have a need to assure us they're still alive. People say it's for seeing reactions or feeling like you're with the person, but when I'm watching TV with someone, I don't have them staring at me the whole time. At least not from in front of the TV. I guess it just feels so far from the Giant Bomb style I'm used to on the site.

Well, until you realize that beating Olmec is only the beginning really.

Have you ever played Muramasa on the Vita, it's really good. Prob. one of the best looking games I've seen with excellent music and combat, play on Chaos though for the challenge.

God damnit, Patrick! Your strategy was actually pretty clever for droppin' bombs at the end. I can't believe I never thought of doing that. Still, an absolutely soul sucking way to end a personal best. I feel your pain, sir.

Seeing patrick fight olmec was rough. He didnt notice the hole he made wasnt big enough?

That was a unique feeling. I've never played Spelunky before, so when he got to the Olmec fight and blew up the deep hole, I was just sitting there screaming "GO DOWN THE HOLE! I WANT TO KNOW WHAT'S DOWN THERE!"

It was the opposite of how you might feel in a horror movie, the classic "DON'T GO IN THERE, HE'S IN THERE, OH MY GOD," and you know the actions are going to play out on screen the exact same way. But with this, it's like YOU don't know either, and unlike in a horror movie, there's a chance they might actually not go through the door. Highly enjoyable.

For Unprofessional Fridays, it makes sense to show everyone hanging out. When I'm watching someone I don't know silently playing a video game from his bedroom, I don't need to see his face the whole time.
