Yay! Patrick finally learned to stay away from doors when fighting Mom.

I need a count for how much money Patrick actually made at the blood bank.

Funny thing is, he doesn't talk about stying in the center of the room when he's exposing his strategy after he beat mom

Patrick also unlock another character because he beat the game. I wonder if he has figured it out yet?

Good job Patrick! This was definitely my favorite in this series so far, barely edging out the gambling incident.

Klepek's gambling addiction. Didn't seem to realize he's unlocked Judas as well as Cain.

Time to install Wrath of the Lang.

I love how stoked Meat Boy looks when he's walking.

Good for him. That was a solid run with decent but not amazing items, and he made some smart deals with the devil but still kept his wits about him.

But yeah, Patrick encountered one of the biggest problems with Maggy: War wrecks you (as does Lust unless you have a lot of knockback), and the rooms where 4 regenerators rush you immediately can be near impossible to get out of the way of when you have Maggy's very low starting speed.

Alright! 1 Mom's Heart kill down, 9 more to go before Patrick unlocks the last level without the expansion, Sheol.

Congrats duder! Now you've unlocked Cain, and by beating Mom's Heart you unlocked Judas, although for some reason the game didn't tell you that (that's what the fez in the chest at the ending meant). Cain is really powerful, and Judas is a low health character but has ways to buff his damage to really high levels. Can't wait to see the next run!

Man Patrick, just rolling through this game.

Just beat The Cathedral for the sixth time. On my way to ending number 13, and them Ill have finally beaten this game (after 130 hours and losing my original save 50 hours in). This feature got me to get back into it, so thanks patrick!

Good job with the focus on damage avoidance today, even when it means that some of the early rooms take a long time.

I think I actually prefer leaving Meat Boy at lv2 where he's circling around and protecting you, while shooting at enemies.

P.S. A lot of the time when you say "I guess it doesn't matter where I bomb" you should check your map first.

Nice one Patrick! You worked out a really great way to maximize your progress in that last run. I feel like that's a hidden property of all roguelikes: managing your current options and trying to get the most out of what's given to you.

Nice run! Always good to see someone realizing they can still make it through the game, even without some of the more awesome items, as long as you get some usable upgrades and make smart use of what the game gives you. Those full health pills were super clutch - I think you would have died right at the end without them.

@bisonhero: Yeah, this run exposes why I never like using Maggie. The Yum Heart can be nice for some extra blood money and staying up in health, but there's way too many later bosses and rooms that are really bad with lower speed.

Patrick, be careful using blood banks in later levels. It's a much better idea to have a stockpile of hearts to come back to if you get damaged than to cash said hearts in for money. Considering every hit starts to take a full heart and stores stop appearing altogether, hearts are way more valuable than cash late-game.

I recall you saying you could resize your display frame, so if not: please disregard.

If you could crop 25% off both the left and right sides of your frame -- effectively reducing your current frame by 50% -- then I think we would be able to see the entire game screen, see less of the walls in your room, yet we'd still see your face.

Also: have you considered reaching-out to BLUE microphones for some kind of endorsement? You are providing an awful lot of visibility for their products...

Patrick breezing through this fuckin game while I'm here strugglin to even get to mom after 13 hours I'M HELLA SALTY. In all seriousness good job!

Brimstone is one of the best items in the game..

In the base game maybe. It has its uses but I find stacking tear items more useful managing charge ups for brim stone is annoying to me.

Patrick I love this feature!!

I say install Wrath after your next Mom Heart kill. No real reason; just seems like a good milestone skill-wise.

If there is one thing I hate in this world is people making heart shapes with their hands.

I like this idea, Patrick the game will get quite a bit more crazy and fun when you drop that dlc in. Awesome run again today, glad to watch.

@crippl3: i got to sheol by chance. only beaten moms heart 3 times and on the latest defeat it had a devil room opened up that took me right there, made it through that beat the devil, got the weird ending. so there is an off chance he could get there sooner.

@pyrodactyl: haha exactly what I was thinking. While he plays this game I find myself saying "well what did you think going to happen dammit?", more often than Spelunky.

For example when War was doing his cross screen attack and Patrick just stood at the bottom. He had the same problem with Titan Souls when he played that. Him and Brad talk about enemy patterns like they understand what's going on, but then you watch them play and talk about it without knowing how to react correctly.

Still, I find this entertaining.

It gets good at the later floors and especially the final bosses where it means you have much less chance to get hit

Anywho, I hope Patrick sticks with this through Sheol, the Cathedral... and maybe even the Chest?

Did they fix the bug where you'd sometimes get the devil room just randomly on the Heart so you can continue even before 10 kills? I got the full win before 10 kills.

Today's episode should be good.

I like to think of Meat Boy being a loyal, naive, innocent sidekick who just stands on enemies with a big toothy grin and his arms on his hips.

Were that I were an artist so I could draw fan art of this.
