woo we beat it and are finally done with Isaac, so what's next on the rouguelike list?

@aquacadet: the real Isaac doesn't begin until Mom dies a few more times. There are three true final bosses that await Patrick.

Patrick is making some excellent content for this website. This is the closest we've had to an endurance run in some time, thanks Scoops.

Watching this is getting me so excited for Rebirth.

I wanted to put up some more info on a few of the items and things Patrick encountered today. I'll put all the info in spoilers, in case you duders don't want to see it.

• Guppy's Tail - Gives every drop (either from enemies, clearing rooms, or inside chests) a larger chance to turn into a regular or gold chest, but also increases the chance that the drop will be cancelled and nothing will drop. Part of the Guppy set, which consists of four items related to Isaac's pet cat Guppy.If you can collect three of the Guppy items in one run, Isaac will get a power up for the rest of the run and will permanently unlock a new item.
• Lump of Coal - It sort of gives you "super powerful shots," like Patrick thought. Your shots get stronger the longer they've been on screen, so having a long range, items that slow down your shots, and/or keeping your distance from enemies will increase your damage by a lot.
• The Habit - Whenever you get hit, this will instantly recharge three bars of you space bar item meter, recharging it halfway. This is how Patrick was recharging the My Little Unicorn so often. This can be very powerful, and with the right set of itemscan render you invincible.
• The Rosary - Gives you three soul hearts when you pick it up, and then greatly increases the chance that you'll find The Bible in shops for the rest of the run.
• Purple slot machines - These are called Fortune Telling Machines. These are like regular slot machines, but with different rewards. You can get soul hearts, pills, trinkets, tarot cards, or the Crystal Ball, which is the "jackpot" item for this slot machine, like the Dollar from the normal slot machine. Crystal Ball is a space bar item, that when used reveals the map of that level and drops either a soul heart or tarot card. Sometimes the fortune telling machine will give you a message, which don't actually have any function. They just serve to let you know that you didn't win anything on that spin. Several of them are references to items or secrets in the game, others are depressing fortunes or references to movies.

Pretty strong run today Patrick, especially against Mom's Heart. You're almost to the next set of levels, can't wait to see them!

Also the daily videos part of it. Breaking Brad is great at times, but I always want to see what's next and have to wait.

Though lately Brad has been doing two-a-week.

Seems some of you are not aware of the Endurance Run format. An Endurance Run is daily content. Demon's Souls, Volgarr and DMC were all quasi-weekly.

I like how we went from some people being offended by demonic imagery (and light blasphemy) in episode one, to just straight up prayers to false idols now.

It's ok, though. This is art.

The second I see him playing Cain, I can't watch. The looking up every item on a wiki was hurting my head enough. The arcade just takes it too far.

After playing 200+ hours of Isaac, I was very excited to see him learn from mistakes and experiments. Min-maxing and not taking / using any item until it's wiki was read kind of takes the point out of it.

I will probably watch again once Lord Gamblor shoots himself in the face.

I love how Patrick always says the gambling parts are "boring" when in actuality, I'm on the edge of my seat, and it's the best.

Yeah, I agree. I don't think BOI's combat is very exciting to watch, but the gambling certainly is!

I think watching this feature has actually made me significantly better at this game. I went from never even getting close to beating mom to beating mom easily and following it up with a run where I unlocked every single character (as I hadn't managed to unlock any on my first mom run) and beat mom's heart. I've only managed to beat mom's heart one more time since then (usually just due to stupid mistakes, like accidentally touching a blood donation machine) but I almost always make it to the womb.

My last run really pissed me off, though. I got a Greed fight instead of a shop, and he dropped the steam sale, and I was pretty stoked. Until the next three shops were Greed fights. I rage quit at that point.

@buddyleer: Yeah, I wish he would stop apologizing for it constantly while doing it. I know he's likely responding to the live chat raging or whatever but one time is sufficient.
