I normally don't watch the Murder Island vids but if they keep doing this style I will continue to watch. I don't like it when they play online but versus each other its comedy gold.

I appreciate the influence the Beatles had that would pave the way for a lot of great music. Actual Beatles songs do not hold up.

The lag during the zombie match was unbearable. I spent half the time either disconnected, or staring at a "network lag detected" message. What a shame.

This is 'opinion'. I am not a real Beatles fan, but I had a longing to listen to A Day in the Life of . From there I spent an hour + on you tube going over other Beatles music.

Seems to hold up for me just fine. Music for me though is mostly timeless. I can't stand most popular music today, but I still hear so much really good current stuff

I don't know how you can fairly expect a young person to be able to appreciate the significance of The Beatles.

We live in a world where there are essentially adults that don't remember a time before smart phones or the internet. And they're very young things comparitively. The actually game changing nature of these things is impossible to truly understand if you weren't there.

Sure industrious people can research a topic and get an intellectual appreciation for something. But they don't really know.

It's even more weird with the Beatles because there's this added layer of subjectivity to art. You don't need to like them to understand their significance... But if you're just viewing them as art it's just this overblown band you don't like.

Truly influential things that change the world are harder for later generations to understand because they've only ever grown up in that changed world.

I mean when was the last time you considered what a extraordinary game changer the refrigerator was? Fridges are mind blowing devices! Yet we all have them. Same with modern indoor plumbing.

Or take Akira Kurosawa. How can you expect someone whose only lived in a world where everyone uses the aspects of cinematic storytelling he pioneered, including the shittiest films and tv shows around, to be able to appreciate his films as more then just movies but rather as these ground breaking pioneering things? There's nothing special to what he's doing in your mind because you've seen it a billion times before. So if you also don't like Samurai, or black and white films, then Kurosawa is up shit Creek without a paddle as far as impressing you goes. Wether or not he "deserves" your respect. Which he does btw.

It's perfectly understandable for people who just see The Beatles as a popular band, one held up as this exalted thing, to call them overated. If you don't have the historical frame of reference how could you understand? Even if you do it's pretty damn hard to truly grasp the frame of reference of a world that existed 50 or 60 years ago.

The Beatles are not overrated. Although certain individuals certainly talk them up too much. They aren't gods, but the evangelist of most things only hurt them in the long run. But how can a twenty year old who doesn't like their music (Which is 100% subjective) be expected to know that?

So yeah. Thinking The Beatles are overrated is totally fine and understandable.

Brad has the same luck with crate drops I do. Never get to use those wonderful toys.

sure thing boss. i've been a big electronic music fan for awhile, but always had a chip on my shoulder re: the beatles. i think a large part of it was my exposure was limited to their earlier career or straight-on rock n roll stuff.

but do yourself a favour and give 'tomorrow never knows' a shot. as my friend described it, 'it's like they wrote a chemical brothers song before synths or samplers existed.'

That is precisely the reason they are still so popular 50+ years after the fact. Still sound utterly fresh, completely timeless. Go and listen to actual albums instead of the Top 5 on Spotify.

Vinny and Abby were saying that they messed up by going into the house, but I think it was a great decision. Sure, they got overwhelmed and died, but they took out about 23 zombies. The other 5 people combined took out 10 before they died. If they had had more ammo stockpiled, covered each other during reloads, and the rest of the team had used this same strategy, I think they could have won.

Vinny too heavy for Abby to carry. Really impressed with her performances on the Island.
