Wednesday night fever on a friday! I don't know how, but it happened.

Posted this on 8-4's site but thought I would put it here to see what people thought-thanks

Just wondering what you guys thought of this?

The Wii U seems to be off to a slow start, even in Japan, which surprises me a little.

On the other hand, the PS3 seems to be on the road do great things this year, with an amazing set of exclusives games coming out in 2013. Here is a list of PS3 exclusives, in America, in 2013

And this list does not even mention the great multi-platform releases this year that, for the most part, won’t be on the Wii U.

I feel the Wii U is having a hard time competing with the PS3 and 360 and this will only get more difficult when the PS4 and 720,or whatever they are called, are released. But maybe I should just enjoy Nintindo's amazing first party line-up and be quiet.

I'd say both Fire Emblem and SMT are just as niche outside of Japan. At least that's my perspective as a European. As far as popularity goes, that's a good fit. But yes, it's still fucking weird and enough with all the crossovers.

In Australia and Europe, we have a huge problem. Nintendo is putting the inferior 50Hz PAL versions of games on the WiiU PAL Virtual Console. If you could talk about this on the show, that would be great.

Hmm... Zelda X Dark Souls. A shield eating ability. A ReDead covenant. Nintendo and Namco Bandai combine their efforts to ensure the net code for summoning phantoms is even worse than in Dark Souls.

I want to want a Wii U, but it's going to be a while before I can justify it. Can't see myself getting one before the new PS and Xbox come out, and by that time I think I'll end up in a similar situation to this gen, where it always feels like I'm retro gaming when I turn on a Nintendo console. I barely touched my Wii and I still feel a little burned by it. Not saying there weren't plenty of amazing games for it, just saying I had a hard time dropping full price money on Wii games this gen. I hope the Wii U does well. I really do. I hope I want one someday.

Also, to the guy who's currently playing Dark Souls: you're not really playing the game when you're watching youtube videos all the time. Try to play as much of it without guides as possible.

You guys keep saying there's no Miiverse board for Monster Hunter. There totally is. People have been using it since at least last month, pictures and everything.

@Orange_Pork: I think they're referring to in game integration of Miiverse, a la New Super Mario Bros. U, although I may be mistaken.

@Shoobs: I thought so too, but on the 12/14 show they specifically say that there isn't even a Miiverse Community for it where people can make posts and draw pictures. I remember the community being around back then too though.

I also enjoy how just enough time was spent, and the relevant things were said about the Dead Island Riptide statue thing. Not too much, unlike some other places... jk :)

The music is the theme from Jurassic Park, and the audio is the made up language spoken on the Dinosaur Planet in Starfox Adventures. See if you can spot the common element :)

Also, I really hope the only reason that Hiroko is taking placenta pills is that she is getting peer pressured by her girlfriends to do it or something. I hope she is aware that anything made out of placenta is pretty much snake oil, because placenta really has no remarkable medicinal or health effects. Any placenta-based cure is just bullshit Chinese medicine that doesn't do anything.

Please please please do a Dark Souls podcast. I don't have much of a specific topic for it, I know way too much about the game already and I still just love hearing people's experience with it. Perhaps discuss about the 1st time you ever summon for help.

My 1st time was on the 2 bosses, those guys broke me down and tore me to pieces making me begging for help.

Not even close. It's the music for Dragon Roost Island, from The Legend of Zelda: The Wind Waker. Ya know, given that the Wind Waker HD rerelease is one of the big talking points of the podcast. What would Monkey Island have to do with anything? :P

But you are forgiven for the confusion, as Monkey Island also uses a lot of...island music, full of pan flute and castanets and whatever.

Weird moment of publicly thanking a person who gave them a copy of a game that person was involved with, and then immediately describing how boring that game turned out to be for several minutes.

Got to have opinions, I guess, but hopefully she doesn't listen to the podcast. :/
