I have installed/uninstalled then installed again so many times now and every time, there is never a problem opening the game but whenever i try to pick a starting location (in sandbox or career mode) it stops working and is forced to close. I run win 7 and have tried running XP and 98/ME in compatibility mode but the same result.. any help would be great!

I have this running on Windows 7 64bit with very little issue. Only time it crashes is when I close the game. Have you tried a different version of the game and making sure it's fully updated?

I'm running it from the disk and without any patch, but am struggling to find an update, as sadly, Fireaxis have removed it from their site. Do you happen to know any reliable sites for download?
