Day[9] is currently one of the most iconic members of the Starcraft 2 community. Tens of thousands of players watch his casts on youtube, either to get advice about what strategies are emerging in the scene or to just watch for the main part exciting matches between top players. That said, he runs his gig off a youtube channel. While this is a great place for people who are looking for his casts to pick up his videos, only people who are actively participating in the starcraft community will pick them up (e.g. through TeamLiquid.net or /r/starcraft on reddit).
I think it would be beneficial to both GiantBomb and Day[9] for you to pick his casts up as a segment. The benefit for you is that you would be picking up a lot of regular visitors ( http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4aP69pQzVZI = 17k hits in 6 days) and further expanding in to what is undoubtedly going to be an immovable object in the pro-gaming scene for a number of years (you seem interested in it considering your GSL coverage). And the benefit for Day[9] is that he would gain extra exposure to less active starcraft players and gamers alike, perhaps even picking up a little more cash than he gets from youtube ad-revenue in the process ;)
StarCraft II: Wings of Liberty
Game » consists of 10 releases. Released Jul 27, 2010
The first chapter in the StarCraft II trilogy focuses on the struggles of the Terran race, as seen through the eyes of Commander Jim Raynor, leader of the rebel group Raynor's Raiders.
GiantBomb should adopt Day[9]!
O_o
No clue what this is actually proposing besides his video being archived on Giant Bomb.
(Even if that is all, it won't happen [ever {ever}] cos I doubt Day9 even knows what Giant Bomb is, much less would he try to get in contact with Giant Bomb to get videos pasted here as opposed to places where people who actually know things about Starcraft frequent like TeamLiquid.net, GotFrag, or anywhere that competitive E-Sports is the focus.)
That would be great, but Day9 is a student and is very busy. I would like him to move up into a more organized system though.
No, this isn't an SC2 website. You're right that the people on TL/Reddit are interested in his video's because they're active participants in the SC2 Community, that's because those kind of people are Day9's target audience.
Also his youtube/blip.tv page is accessible to everyone, I don't see why he'd need more advertising? I don't know if you realize, but Day9 is a pretty popular guy in the SC Community and he doesn\t need a video game website repping him simply because he can rely on the most powerful marketing tool known: Word of mouth. You probably can't take 2 steps in a forum thread about SC2, without his name popping up.
Sorry, but your idea is dumb.
GB was the unique site to do more work with SC2. IGN, Gamespot, 1UP (well, poor guys) ignore SC2. Stupid how they don´t see the numbers in youtube. The journalists in IGN and alikes are too fanboish for PS3 and 360.

In State of Game podcast the crew make fun of HDStarcraft, but I think he is good enough and combine more with GB than day9.
Even if I'm not a huge Starcraft fan I still think Day[9] is awesome; from the first moment I saw his videos I found something really likeable about his presentation style, and his analytical ability when looking at Starcraft games is very impressive. I'm not 100% sure what you're proposing Giant Bomb do though. Do you want the community to start focusing more on Day[9]? Are you saying Day[9] should be part of the GB staff? Are you saying Day[9]'s videos should get reposted on the site? I honestly have no idea what you mean but I don't think any of the concepts I mentioned seem particularly appealing. There are lots of cool people making cool videos on the internet, but if Giant Bomb or the Giant Bomb community just showcased everything they do here the site would be a mess. You must also remember that Giant Bomb is here to cater to a variety of games, not just Starcraft. The Starcraft talk on the Bombcast is fine and I thought Brad and Drew's trip to Korea was really cool but this site is by no means a platform for hour after hour of Starcraft-specific content.
