North American Starcraft league COUNTDOWN
So this essentially confirms it, along with the G4 announcement.
GET HYPED! ESPORTS IN NORTH AMERICA MAN!
I figured this is what EG.InControl was talking about. And why Greg Fields moved back to America. The only downside is this will fragment the best players into different leagues, and I'll probably have to pay for GSL tickets AND this. Oh well, maybe some Koreans will come to NA and be the foreigners for once.
EDIT: Oh my God, it looks like Geoff Robinson (EG.INcontrol) is going to be a caster for the NASL. That. Is. Awesome. The dude has a hugely funny personality.
" There have been tons of leagues for esports in north america. "Starcraft 2 a better game than anything put in those leagues.
" There have been tons of leagues for esports in north america. "Not really, I can't think of one other than MLG....and look at what that has become....
@Wipeout: Agreed, Incontrol is a great caster! I can't wait to see how this turns out.
" @Laketown said:Not sure if it's better, but it's certainly bigger in terms of prize money and, I would argue, mainstream (gamer) attention." @Cataphract1014 said:The duder flows strong in this one. Also, what if it's a huge troll and NASL doesn't stand for North American Starleague at all, but something else? lol

I love G4's strategy of waiting until they get booted off of my DirectTV before actually showing something I'm interested in.
Bravo, G4. Bravo.
There is gonna be litigation all up in this bitch from the North American Soccer League.
" There is gonna be litigation all up in this bitch from the North American Soccer League. "YEAH!
" Unless the prize money for this league can compete with the GSL it will never attract the best players and I don't think the audience here is big enough to support that kind of prize money. "mlg already is for their national finals, with the added bonus of not having to drop everything and move to korea.
it doesn't have to be as big, as long as it's more accessible, it seems what players care about is consistency, not some megahuge prize pool at the end of a months long tournament.
and incontrol being a player himself, i'm sure he knows how to make it attractive for others to participate.
It would be funny if Brad and Norm left to go pro and first match a quirk of the draw put them against each other.
Probably. This is what Youtube's closed captioning reveals:"
$100,000? "
"we had one hundred thousand dollars battle remove bats will be is what zero somewhat as sunday school. five six years retire:"
Great retirement plan, though he'll be leaving once Legacy of the Void starts hitting its stride.
bump
$400k wat
" http://nasl.tv/ bump $400k wat "That's the total prize pool, 100k grand prize.
50 man online invite tourney, top 15 invited to finals, open tourney held for 16th slot, grand finals hosted live in LA, Incontrol and Gretorp casting.
