    Hey Folks,


    First off, I know there is a matchmaking thread.  I have found every single one of those, either on TeamLiquid or Wellplayed.org to be 100% useless.  I have added over 30 names and not gotten a single practice partner.  

    I am a huge fan of Starcraft 2 and play every chance I get.    Watch all the tourneys, NASL, GLS, TSL.  I even write a blog about my struggles against the internet.  I am also a huge fan of Giant Bomb.  But of my friends, I am the only one who is as committed to getting better.  I am on the quest for practice partners.  I bounce between high gold and low platinum league, but I am not improving.  I am coming off of the longest losing streak, with 20 losses in a row to Terran.  I have a full time job as a paralegal and a girlfriend, so those cut into my time to simply ladder.

    I am hoping to connect to a few people who are at the same level or higher than me to practice with.  I started on TeamLiquid.net, but that place is a harsh land filled with harsh people.  Then I though that the best place to look would be where people enjoy games and play games to enjoy them.  I have put my information below.     I don't play nearly as much as I used to, but I'm still at a similar level.  I watch more than I play these days, and since I started working again it's been rough.  But I did go through a couple months where I couldn't sleep before laddering a bit, so who knows.... that could happen again.

    I'm down to do some practice games.  Frankly, laddering pisses me off, and doing some customs would be really good.  I also want to practice zerg without having to play people that will destroy me on the ladder because my zerg isn't any where near as good as my toss.

    The problem with the matchmaking threads imho is that when you add someone on b.net via the character code, the person you added does not get a notice that they've been added (that only happens for real ID friends). So in a way, yeah, it's kinda useless/a headache.


    Anyways, what seems to be the primary problem you're having vs T? I know I had some tough times against them for a while, but for the most part it's turned into the match-up I'm most comfortable in now (aside from when they go mass, MASS Thors). Gimme a shout if/when you see me on, I usually am smoothing out builds and such in customs when I'm on.

    My Protoss could possibly be extremely frustrating to play against (ask Cataphract) but PvP sucks anyways. My Z is probably Gold-ish level and my T is probably around high-Gold/low-Plat, so I should be able to give you a good fight in those match-ups and hopefully help you improve.

    If anyone below gold or above gold wants to practice I will be up for some . I am learning Protoss and Terran I need all the practice I can get and playing  real people is better than the computer. So if anyone want to pratice or just use me as a warm up round.

    @Plan6: While I don't feel particularly comfortable playing with you a whole lot (I sorta suck), I would love to spectate the matches and offer any pointers, if that is okay. Also, just PM with your e-mail, as Wunder knows what he is doing.

    We played some games about 20 minutes ago.  Me and Hennet played a PvP where we didn't 4gate(lol), and me and plan6 played a TvP with me as the T!  Good times for all.

    Macromanagement, basically keeping a good economy while making units non-stop, adding production buildings at the exact moment, et al.

    I am a plat terran, mauveforest 990, I just added you and will hit you up the next time I am on and see you. I prefer custom games to ladder, I like getting/giving feedback from the games.

    Thanks for all the replies folks.  I am adding everyone slowly.  I liked the one practice game we played today before I needed to log off.  I learned that my macro is inferior to   Cataphract1014 .  


    On a side note, I did beat back a proxy rax failed cheese into fast expo that defied all logic.  I may make a VOD because the game was that funny.

    I've added everyone in the thread.  I'm down to play any race if you want practice.  My Toss is the best, followed by Terran and Zerg bringing up the rear.

    Also, Join the giantbomb SC2 channel.  I just idle in there if I am on.  Always down for some customs if I am around.
