The concept of Stormworm+ is incredibly simple, heavily inspired by the game Snake, injected with over-the-top visual fluff.

Stormworm+ is a Fast-Paced Reflex-Driven Arcade Game with a very simple primary goal, avoid your tail and get higher scores. Players start as a single block and aim to gain as many points as they can by collecting cubes scattered over various shaped worlds. Every cube you collect causes you to grow one cube longer and gain a small speed increase, which becomes a problem very quickly. Similar to Snake, you must avoid your tail while continuing to collect cubes. If you hit your tail, you lose and must start from a single block again. After your game ends, if you reach predefined score thresholds, you gain medals for the level-mode combo you were playing, ranging from Bronze, Silver, Gold and Diamond.

Stormworm+ also makes use of Global Leaderboards, allowing the player to see where they rank out of everyone who has played it. If the player has friends that also play Stormworm+, their scores are displayed at the top right of the game window and once beaten, the player receives a notification. This allows the player to compete against their friends and aim for higher places on the Global Leaderboards.

The game comes with five levels with access to four different game modes (Classic, Simple, Action and Timed). Each game mode is centered around the same simple concept, but with a little bit extra (or removed if you are playing Simple Mode). Classic Mode is the first mode in the list where you collect cubes, grow longer and every so often a pickup spawns that halves your length, Action Mode, however, has the addition of glowing red spikes which when touched cause lose, this is offset by the addition of a power up which allows you to destroy them.
