Despite the broken, early-access feel of the launch, modders have taken it upon themselves to fix the PC version of Street Fighter V for Capcom.

Through their tireless efforts, Street Fighter fans are now finally able to enjoy the fifth numbered entry into the franchise, in the way it was always intended, according to this story on Nichegamer.com:

...One such mod has already arisen not even 24 hours after the game’s PC release – a mod that adds back R. Mika’s full buttslap. As with any mod, it’s worth mentioning this could seriously corrupt your game install, so back everything up – and use in good health.

The modding community also modded back in Cammy’s full intro sequence, which Capcom quietly cropped things out of view in the finished version of the game.

Now we just need fans to mod back in the original piledriver split Zangief puts his opponents into!

It is beautiful to see a community come together like this, to fix a game that frankly has been rather lacking at launch. Bravo Street Fighter fans!

"Fix" implies something was broken, a few camera angle changes are the least of this game's issues.

I thought they added in arcade mode.. not questionable camera angles.

While I agree the camera changes were unnecessary and depressing to see, I would've liked to see modders' time being spent on better things.

I think theyre limited in how much they can modify. Does it use VAC or some other anti cheating system? Modifications to the game engine on a level of say adding arcade mode may be picked up by that. But what do I know?

This is obviously right up there with DSfix in terms of community members saving us from the wrongdoings of developers.

That's a pretty fun way of presenting it. Look, I think it's dumb they changed the camera angle on that butt slap. The action is still in there, it's just not in frame. It's like say, a photo of someone punching someone else, but the focus is entirely on the puncher's face, so it's harder to make out what's going on. If they were that worried about the reaction, removing the actual action was the better option. People modding back in a proper camera angle are entirely in the right, as far as I'm concerned.

But when I saw the headline for thread I was seriously hoping someone had managed to mod in a proper arcade mode against CPUs, so that's a disappointment.

Whoever decided that Street Fighter, of all franchises, needed to be sexed up should have their brain checked. And these modders need to find a better outlet for their abilities.
