Announced at the Capcom panel at EVO earlier, there will be a new Super Street Fighter IV update costing $15 that will include 5 new characters. They are the following:

• Elena
• Rolento
• Poison
• Hugo
• A character that has not been playable in Street Fighter before

The update will also include 6 new stages and a bunch of balance updates to current characters. It will be released some time in 2014 for the PC, PS3 and 360. There will be an official trailer tomorrow before the top 8 in SSFIV at EVO.

There will be a disc version for $40. The downloadable update as well as the retail version will include all previous DLC from the previous games.

Pre-order bonus will be new UDON designed character alternate costumes.

General

- Capcom is aware of unblockables and attempting to fix them, no details on how yet.

- Goals were to decrease the gap between high and low tier characters in SF4 with balance changes.

Ken:

- Faster walk speed.

- Crouching Hard Kick has a shorter start up.

- Standing Light Punch combos into Crouching Hard Kick now.

- Ultra 1 does more damage when it connections without the full animation playing.

Dudley:

- Short Swing Blow has throw invincibility.

- He's been given better hit boxes on some of his attacks.

- Target combo does more damage.

Chun-Li

- Health increased to 950.

- EX Fireball knocks down on hit.

- EX Flip Kick breaks armor.

- Increased her damage.

T. Hawk

- Faster walk speed.

- Crouching Medium Kick is special cancelable.

- Ultra 2 has been improved.

Cammy

- Cannon Stride can be done LOWER to the ground now.

- Damage reduced on Hard attacks.

- Stun reduced on Hard attacks.

- They tried to reduce the "2 combos and you're dead" effect.

Balrog (Boxer)

- Faster charging of his Turn Punch.

- Less Headbutt recovery.

- Farther range on his Ultra 2.

E. Honda

Ultra 2 has more range.

Ultra 1 has a faster start up.

Jump Toward MP has a smaller hurt box.

Ibuki

- Less vortex for her.

- More defense options.

- Soft knockdown now on Neckbreakers, but EX version is still a hard knockdown.

- EX DP will have more invincibility.

- Spin Kicks have a larger and lowered hit box.

Fei Long

Rekka Ken range nerfed.

Yang

- Faster walk speed.

- Shorter start up on Standing Light Kick.

- Increase in jumping middle throw?

Vega (Claw)

- Hit stun increased on Crouching Light Punch.

- Faster start up on Ultra 1.

- Faster start up on Ultra 2.

I'm curious on the price for this update. My guess is it will be $20 like with the Arcade Edition Update. Cool to see that Capcom is still supporting Street Fighter 4 after all this time. Just wish Marvel 3 got the same treatment.

I believe it's mostly because of licensing issues that Capcom can't do much more with UMvC3.

Considering SFxT hasn't exactly lit the world on fire, I guess it makes sense to retroactively throw those characters in the game that most people still care about since the models and animations are already done. I'm interested in whoever the new character is (and will no doubt be leaked 2 months before they're officially revealed).

Also Street Fighter IV is like 5 years old at this point. Weird.

I really wish Alex was in this =( but man if they throw in Batsu from Rival Schools I'll be so happy. Man I wish they could make a Tatsonoko v Capcom 2 but you know on things not called the WiiU so people would play it.

Still this is exactly what I need to get back in the game.

Cool, not much to say but i'm glad they're adding some much needed stages because for some reason i've always felt short changed in that regard

Even if they wanted to make a second game it's mired in legal and other licensing problems, i like it the best out of the modern VS. games too :(

@gokaired: Yep it had the right mix of MvC crazzyness and SF style technique and I didn't really know half the cast so I was all sure Imma try out this dude who looks like a giant lighter. Man if they had giants in UMvC3 that'd of been weird (prolly bad) but kinda awesome

maaan i was hoping they would include Q or Karin but i guess its quite far into this games lifespan so its much more economical to re-use SFxT models. still pretty disappointed. as far as the balance changes i thought yang and vega would get better buffs but whatever the game is relatively balanced as it is. hopefully chun becomes competitive.

if the 5th is asura i'm gonna be pretty bummed.

Actually I think this is great I sold my copy of SSFIV when I lost my 360 and and I been wanting to play some SFIV again so I might as well just wait and buy the retail copy for PS3 if they're putting all the DLC costumes this is definetively the last update for the game, I also hope they name it something cooler sounding like the SFIII iterations for once.

Street Fighter really is a gift that keeps on giving. I always feel sad though as its so incredibly intimidating to try to get into. I tried dipping my toes into SF x T which simplified a lot of things and that was a pretty rough learning experience. I feel like unless you're naturally good at fighting games or have been playing SF for years then its an almost impossibly hard game to get into.

Cammy Nerfs sound shockingly tame. People like to hate on that character but i'm happy about this.

I wish they'd do something more with SF4's single player. I've never been able to get into playing it competitively, and it makes me sad that their solo mode walked right out of the year 1999, because they have a lot of colorful characters that they aren't doing a whole lot with.

What's the problem? They're constantly improving on and adding to the game. It's a good thing. This game wouldn't be nearly as popular right now if they'd just stuck to original Street Fighter 4.
