For some reason I cannot seem to start Boethiah's calling quest. I have been upto the shrine but there is no one there, I have also read the Boethiah's proving book but the quest does not start and I have also loaded in a previous save but it still does not seem to start. Please can someone help me?

You have to be at a certain level for it to activate.

I am at level 75

What platform? The issue I ran into on that quest was the switch version. It requires you to sacrifice an NPC at the altar but the altar wouldn't work. As it turned out I remapped some of the buttons and after reverting back to the default control settings it worked as intended. Hope that helps, I haven't gotten that far in the VR version yet so I don't know how that differs.

I am playing it on ps3 but i do have serana as a follower could that be an issue?

it might, since the quest involves bringing a follower to sacrifice and i'm not sure you can sacrifice serana since she's required for the dawnguard dlc. can you try dismissing her first? i'm pretty sure you can get her back. i would also try going somewhere indoors and wait a few days and then go back to see if anyone respawns at the shrine. maybe do both.

I cant dismiss her when i say its time to part ways it does not work.

i have a feeling that this is why you can't start boethiah's calling. have you completed the dawnguard dlc? if not try continuing it until you part ways with her naturally in the story or you complete it, and then try to part ways again.

if you've actually already completed the dawnguad dlc then I'm not too sure...

Sounds like skyrim being skyrim, this isnt a bug, its a feature.

Is there any fix to it?
