I have a question about the Heavy Armor perk 'Matching Set'.  The perk reads: Additional 25% armor bonus if wearing a matched set of Heavy Armor.  Does anyone know if you also have to have the shield equipped to get the bonus?  I don't use shields so there is no use in me taking the perk if you do need the shield.

I only ask because the other Heavy Armor perks mention in the text that you only need to wear items on the head, chest, hands and feet to get the bonus (like 'Well Fitted' for example).

I guess it's just head, chest, gauntlets and boots. Just like with the Well Fitted perk, although i could be wrong. I myself am only 4 levels away from level 70 in heavy armor, I'll get back to you unless someone already answers the question.
