I would also recommend you buy all of the houses, makes storing items easier.

Buy everything possible from a merchant and then just drop it all on the floor in front of him.

Honestly I never buy armor or weapons. I've never seen better weapons in shops than the random ones you get on quests or out in the wild. I spend my money getting training on any skill I find people will train me on.

Find a beggar and give him gold over and over until you are all out.

Training, soul gems, ingredients, potions, etc. At least that's what I mainly spend my money on.

skooma is the best thing money can buy.

Go to a city and throw your coins on the grounds one by one then there's gonna be a huge pile of money. Then run and jump into it in front of everyone.
