Thanks to the HD remaster more people can get a chance to experience these two games and this week the people have spoken. The ICO/SOTC collection went straight to the top of the N. American sales charts in its debut week, edging out Gears of War 3(which has sold an impressive 3 million units already). The collection was also number 1 in the Japanese charts.  The top five games in each region can be seen in the table below. That's awesome! I picked it up day one, but my PS3 decided to fry the HDMI ports of the TV. And overload the circuit. So I won't be able to experience the glorious 1080p for a few more days.

By miles. It's actually kind of weird, having grown accustomed to the choppiness of the original.

I would have gotten it, but after buying a new fight stick and getting Dark Souls from Amazon money was tight this week.

Then after that I got more games coming in October...

I bought it and had every intent of playing it, but Resident Evil 4 won't let me go. Soon though!

That is actually really surprising. Did not know Ico and Shadow of the Colossus had massive dedicated followers.

I have to say though, Shadow plays like as if it's made for PS3. Still amazing looking game.

They get all of their data from Amazon. I doubt this is a true reflection of how the game is selling.

You know what, I'm kinda surprised. They're great games but I don't think they regular "general mass"-games.

Hopefully they'll get a nice little boost in capital to make Last Guardian that bit better.

I agree. As much as I'd like for this to have outsold Gears 3, I doubt it actually did.

I think were talking about this week guys so it is possible to outsell Gears of War in it's second week sales, it sold 3 million it's first week so the majority of people who wanted the game got it day 1. I bought my copy and have been loving every minute of it. Two of the greatest games of all time better than ever.

good, maybe these sales figures show Ueda that people actually want his next game..... and that he should hurry the F up!

I am kinda unhappy with the SotC port now... I beat it, was having a hard time with a couple of the colossi, thought I was just rusty but I went back and played a bit of the (PAL) PS2 version. The grip mechanic has been bugged in the PS3 port, Wander is now significantly less stable when gripping to certain surfaces, so much so that his grip is disrupted just by some of the colossi taking normal steps. The time attacks for #3, #6 and #15 are purely down to luck now, even if you take shortcuts. I know what to do and how to do it, I've done it before on the PS2 version, but if the colossi do not have prolonged moments of stability (and they don't), you cannot get the stabs in.

Very annoyed by this, I was really looking forward to re-beating hard, unlocking all the time attack items, maxing my stamina and climbing to the secret garden. Don't think I am gonna put my self through the frustration unless they fix it. I might go finish Gears instead ¬_¬

@Nevi: It appears you have yet to master the art of dealing full damage without grip, the jump stab. Learn this maneuver and all mountains that move will bow before you.

I can't believe it beat GoW3. Kinda crazy. I'll pick a copy up eventually, for sure.

I can believe it because anybody that wanted Gears that badly already has it, and there's nothing else big in North America out for that week.

I just beat the second Colossi in SOTC. Holy shit. This game REALLY IS the shit.

GEARS IS IN IT'S SECOND WEEK PEOPLE!! It outsold Gear's second week sales not it's total sales, which are past 3 million at this point in time. Sony's collections have been of incredible value and quality, you are probably thinking of Ubisoft's piss poor Prince of Persia and Splinter Cell collections.

Incredible value and quality? No. This is just them scamming customers because they took out backwards compatibility so they could sell the games back again. There is nothing new about these collections. The graphics aren't even redone.

Also this. I've seen plenty of complaints about this. The colossi thrash about even more wildly now.

Awesome news, but I'm sure outside of Amazon it isn't outselling Gears.
