Joining Bioshock infinte in the Q1 2013 party is the tomb raider reboot. According to the devolpers they need more time to polish the game.

We're doing things that are completely new to Tomb Raider in this game and the additional development time will allow us to put the finishing touches into the game and polish it to a level that you deserve. We believe this is the right choice and I guarantee it will be worth the wait. The game is looking amazing and we can't wait to show it to everyone at E3 in a few weeks.

Its a shame because i was looking forward to it but with no real word from the developers in a whle about the game in a while, im not surprised. Also this gives time for Hitman to really shine in the fall spot

Thought your title meant it was cancelled. I'm glad that it's not though, it looks interesting I think.

I'm fine with waiting. The unfortunate part for me it that Bioshock Infinite and this were my two most anticipated games for this fall and now that season looks kinda iffy. Wait and see, I suppose.

It's funny that I was checking this game's release date yesterday. Oh, well. Let's hope it will be great.

So what am I supposed to play this fall?

With as much of an overhaul that they're giving the Tomb Raider formula in this game, I say give them all the time that they need. It's a franchise that's needed truly fresh air for too long.

I forgot this existed. Still a ton coming out in the fall though. Borderlands 2, Halo 4, AC 3 , Resident Evil 6 , DOA 5 , Black Ops 2 and I'm probably missing a few.

Like Bioshock Infinite, I am totally fine with this. They can have as much time as they need.

i agree too many games come out in the fall, nice to let some breathe a little. i would not besuprised if some more games were pushed back at E3. i expect some more game to be announced for fall as well.

Not really surprising, the first couple months of any year are quickly turning in to the "games that wanted a safer release window from the previous year" time period and with the added bonus of them being more polished it makes complete sense for the devs.

@SlightConfuse: Exactly this the landscape for the fall isn't completely known yet. I'm sure more dates for stuff will be annouced at E3.

After so many titles got buried in the utter clusterfuck that was the 2011 Q4 release schedule, this comes as no surprise.

Tomb Raider trailer is amazing.

That title is a bit misleading, thought for a second that the game was canceled.

I guess it might be beneficial to them in the long run, while the Q4 holiday period is attractive to release games in or just prior to. But a ton of games also get buried during that time of the year.

As a side point, I'm happy that they are taking their time with the game - hopefully getting it right - and that is maybe is moving into one of the release schedules that are relatively empty.

I tend to ignore release dates these days, especially for games from the usual delay companies, but yeah, a game isn't out until it's out. I am not surprised at this one and I fully expect an RE6 delay.

Misleading title is very misleading, indeed!

I expected this game to be delayed, it's been to hush-hush for it to be close to release.

Nooooooooo well I can't say I'm too surprised. They've been pretty quiet ever since the E3 demo way back when.

So what if it's delayed? The game will only get better and I'll have more time to focus on my backlog.

Well, at least I know by now that 2013 is shaping up to be a damn good year.

Bummer, this and BioShock Infinite were two games I was genuinely interested in. Both games looked like they were taking their respective franchises in some interesting new directions.

Im not normaly happy when games are delayed, but this time I am. I dont know why. Perhaps because it would be very easy for them to make their money back from the marketing alone. Especialy bioshock. But the fact that they want to make good games as opposed to junk is a plus in my book.
