Tony Hawk's American Wastelan
Tony Hawk's American Wasteland has you play as a creted character who just moved out to L.A. In L.A. he meets up with a group of skaters and helps them make their skate park great. While this is one of the Tony Hawk series's best stories, it is also the easiest.
The game takes place in L.A, with seven areas you can go to. These seven areas are connected by loading tunnels. You skate through these, while the next area loads. Much of the game's missions revolve around you learning the moves. While this may be good for getting more people into the series, it will likely bore series veterans. The missions are easy too, except for one mission that seems impossible. The easy difficulty combined with the games short length makes the game go by very quickly. The Classic Mode from T.H.U.G. 2 returns too, making the game have some more lasting appeal. The game adds two new tricks; the bert slide and the grind stall. The grind stall is good, but the bert slide is almost pointless. You can also ride bikes. While this is better than the vehicles from the previous two games, the trick list is not as fleshed out as the skateboarding.
In conclusion, Tony Hawk's American Wasteland is an O.K. game. It might be good for beginners, but series veterans will start to wonder why they still play this series. Thank you for reading, please critique if you have the chance.
