Cute, Interesting, Tough
One of the few games I played constantly to completion, like when you'd rent a game for the week/weekend. Art style is great, gameplay is fun, and story (or what I can understand) is interesting. This game is hard, especially in some areas, like enemies that can one shot you but are difficult to defeat. And puzzles range from easy to rather difficult. So you will be scratching your head and, as is hinted, look for hints or even answers on the internet. There is a lot you can do early on, but you need to learn them, read the manual/booklet carefully, there are things that are miss able on first glance, like how to level up or what items do. Key tip, rub your fox up against every wall you cannot see, there are numerous passageways and loot behind trees, walls, and most of the waterfalls. And if you come across a tough boss or enemy, try somewhere else (for tools or stat increase). Overall, best game I played in a long time. Also, soundtrack is great.
