The turban is a kind of headwear based on clothe winding; there are many variations. Turbans are usually worn as customary headwear, usually by men, in many communities across the Middle East, Indian subcontinent, Philippines, Afghanistan, parts of northern and eastern Africa (particularly Kenya and several Arab nations), and parts of Jamaica. Turbans worn in India and Pakistan are known as Pagri. In the Middle Ages, turbans were also worn by the Byzantine Greeks.
