Costume Quest Is Getting a Sequel

Yeah Costume Quest! First one was a delight, hopefully they can flesh out the combat a bit for the sequel.

But I thought South Park: The Stick of Truth already came out...

The music sounds very Goonies towards the end and then transitions into Zelda-ish musak. Love it! I really enjoyed the first Costume Quest and am looking forward to this!

This is a pleasant surprise. I really enjoyed Costume Quest and never expected a sequel to that game, of all games, but I'll be happy to play it!

More Double Fine goodness! I'm glad they're doing well and got so many varied games in different genres coming up. Far cry from their earlier solely publisher dependent days where they seemed a game cancellation away from closing always.

I really liked Costume Quest--I love imaginative, kid-friendly Halloween movies and games--and I desperately hope CQ2 gets a bigger budget to fill out the vision that was so well... imagined, rather than realized... in the original.

And the foley folks should get a raise. Or be fired. Those eating FX were disturbing.

yeah, going to buy this. bought it on psn when it first dropped in price for $10 and beat it that night. sure it's as simple as an rpg can get but i just couldn't stop playing. the art style, the music and just the overall charm got to me. it was worth every cent. thank the heavens we still got people like tim schafer in this industry.

@d_w: They have 4 internal teams and 4 games to go with them. Broken Age, SpaceBase, Massive Chalice, and now Costume Quest!

No worries. The worry would be if they had under 4 games in development (because that's a team without a game to work on).

And as far as this announcement trailer goes... I frikin loved it!

I like the first game. Hopefully the sequel is a little more fleshed out though. Combat in the first one was simplistic to say the least.

Like others have said, I hope they flesh it out a bit more. As thoroughly charming as the first game was, it felt a bit too empty and simplistic to me. It's a series they could do a lot with, if they pull out all the stops.

This is, by far, my favorite Double Fine game, so I am super excited and surprised to see this. The first one was a lot of fun and, most importantly to me, had a really great atmosphere. I really need to play it again.

I think I enjoyed the first one but can't remember why.

I am stoked. I think this is one of the first games in a long time that I have been genuinely giddy about, besides maybe Soma.

I loved the first Costume Quest. A sequel would be great and hopefully it's a little deeper than the original, which was fun but not something I needed to ever go back to.

I hate Halloween but this game is adorable.
