I really enjoyed Brotherhoods multiplayer when it was working correctly. Hopefully they've solved all the connection issues.

I always found AC multiplayer fun to watch other people play but it was too frustrating to actually play

Posted by probablytuna

Wait, wouldn't the customisation make it easier for other players to spot their target? Or do the NPCs' appearance reflect those of the player's characters? Also, that Animus 2.0 chair looks freaking awesome I want one.

14,000,000+ deaths holy chet! And to think my numbers are in there somewhere.

Posted by JamesKond

Woaw, I really laughed at that 'beta/beta/beta'' discussion out of the blue, damn.

Posted by SSully

@probablytuna: I was thinking the exact same thing. They have to have randomized NPCs with the different customization options or else it will be too easy.

Also I would like to see how many deaths have happened on a game like Call of Duty.

Oh those French Canadians and their pronunciations.

At least in AC:B, the crowd was made up of clones of all the player's characters. You could unlock different color schemes, etc... and if you were using one, so were all the NPCs for that model during the round.

Is that the new Jade Raymond?

I did love the AC:B multiplayer, but sadly it became impossible to get into games after a while.

Posted by RE_Player1

I still have to beat 2. Picked it up on PS3 for $10 and only played an hour. Wondering if I should skip Brotherhood and just jump right into Revelations.

Posted by Aishan

I found it hard to get friends into the AC:B multiplayer because it's so unfriendly to newbies.

Veteran players got all sorts of great abilities (Mute and smokebomb!), and improved versions of abilities (fast reloading, for example) that if you're a latecomer it was really hard to get into a 'fair' fight. It was kinda of a slog to get people up to the level where they could compete alongside you.

@msavo: Brotherhood is way better than 2 in terms of gameplay... and probably story as well. I recommend it.

Posted by RE_Player1
@Alphazero I'll pick it up when it's cheap which will happen soon. When Brotherhood came out there was crazy AC2 sales so I expect the same when Revelations is released.

In French, "beta" is pronounced "b-eh-tah", which is different from the English prononciation, hence why the confusion on her part.

Rhymes with BETA

Also, it is properly Q.E.D. (with the periods [or full stops if you go British]]:-p

I loved Brotherhood's multiplayer to death, but never felt like I played it enough because of Bad Company 2. Now this one's coming out behind Battlefield 3, Gears 3, and Uncharted 3. Bad timing for my social life I guess

Does the matchmaking actually work this time?

@SSully: Found an article that had an images of stats for Black Ops deaths posted in feb 2011, and it showed 60 billion kills total. So add that up till now, and you have a crazy bananas number.

By now every person who has ever lived and will ever live have been murdered in Black Ops. Pets too.

Beta rhymes with data. Just listen to Still Alive.

Lets hope netcode is better this time around.

Weird. I didn't find it difficult to get into at all. If a level 50 was playing like crap, they were just as easy to murder in the face. As far as those two specific examples of abilities go, smoke bomb is one of the first ones you unlock and mute is kind of terrible (in my experience).

I'm all for more customization options. Can't wait! -Bart Scott 3:16

Ooh visual customization this time around, nifty. If theirs also more modes this time might actually play it for more than a couple weeks.

Well that makes sense then.

There were quite a lot of modes in Brotherhood, I'd say. I know they were not all there on launch day but that's nothing negative in my book. It was an incentive to pick it back up when those (free!) patches came out (excluding Assassinate and Escort, which were part of the Da Vinci DLC).

Wanted (+Advanced Wanted), Assassinate, Alliance (+Advanced Alliance), Manhunt, Chest Capture, Escort

In my opinion, 6 modes (plus 2 variations) are not too shabby. Depending on if all those modes return, there are already more since this time they added some sort of capture-the-flag variant (which was a lot of fun during the Beta). Wikipedia just told me, there is also a straight up Deathmatch mode and story-oriented missions in the Revelations multiplayer.
