PS3/Vita seem like the only place to go if you want JRPGs. Not that huge of an audience, I guess, but hey, I'm not gonna judge.

looks really cool. have loved many JRPGs in my life, ever since nes and snes, all the way til now. however never got a chance to play the tales series, so looking really forward to this.

My girlfriend has been excited for this for so long, I guess I'll be co oping it with her?

Looks like some anime JRPG bullshit. I'm actually totally down with that, Tales of Symphonia was one of my favorite games on Gamecube.

Tales games have always tended to present these dramatic, out-of-context declarative statements as their marketing material and intro video. The less demonstrative portions of the dialogue and storyline tend to justify it, in my experience.

Here's Symphonia. www.youtube.com/watch?v=oY6ivhONf0I

I kind of don't need a translation to tell me it's fairly consistent.

playing through graces f right now, can't wait for this!

That's some heavy anime bullshit right there.

I've never played a Tales game before. Is this where to start?

@mr_shoeless: They are kind of like Final Fantasy games in that the mechanics connect them, but the story for each 'tales of ____' stands alone.

So yea, based on the the trailers this one looks like it'll be a good one to start :)

So hyped for this.

This looks like a pre-order

@mr_shoeless: The stories of Tales games aren't connected, (with the exception of world connections like Tales of Symphonia and Phantasia, and arguably Vesperia) but I would say the best place to start would be Vesperia or Abyss. If you want to see the best combat in the Tales series, Graces F is pretty good, or import Rebirth if you're not scared of a little Japanese (Yes, it's that amazing).

Super excited for this game, I was recently thinking about importing Xilia 2, but now I'll just wait for this.

@rayeth: actually, if you want JRPGs, 3DS is the system to get moreso than PS3 or Vita.

Agreed. This is the main reason I picked up a 3DS XL last year. I really missed the JRPG genre this generation. Still, PS3/Vita are getting their share of JRPG love too which is good. I already have Xillia preordered.

Still not liking the DLC hijinx NB engages in.

By this point, the PS3 has a good lot of them as well. A Slim shouldn't be too pricey at this point used.

Wrong. Best is play this but skip all cutscenes: MINDBLOWINGEDNESS COMBAT ZOMG.

No idea if this game will be good or not based on this trailer, as a CG trailer for an RPG will almost always completely fail to convey the game mechanics or the game's sense of humor. This looks pretty and melodramatic and BORING.

But, uh, on the bright side, Dan Green (aka Yami Yugi, King of Games) is voicing the king in this?

Now that it is out I'm sort of interested in this, I played a couple hours of Vesperia (I think that was it?) and thought it was okay, just never went back to it. But this one has definitely caught my eye.
