I may have to rebuy a 3DS for this. Oh well, the one I sold a few months back was a launch model, so it was about time I upgraded anyway.

If this game is good, it'll be the game that finally makes me get a 3DS.

Man I love both of those series, but I definitely lean more into Paper Mario... But not sticker star, even though I thought that game was "alright" it wasn't no Paper Mario game.

But this looks more like Mario & Luigi than Paper Mario unfortunately.

It'll probably still be good.

I like the Mario & Luigi games, but man, I would kill for another paper mario game..... This seems like it uses the paper stuff as just a gimmick instead of taking actual influence from those games. TTYD is the best.

Looks shockingly bland, kind of like the last game that I'm still trying to get through. It's a real bummer too because a couple of the Mario & Luigi games (1 and 3), the original Mario RPG, and the second Paper Mario game were all quite good. Stellar, in fact. Though Brad suggested the series was on a downward spiral, it's really been up and down all along to be honest. But when they're good, they're REALLY good.

I'd rather see another Paper Mario game than this, though it's hard to say that after Sticker Star, I guess. Sticker Star sucked all of the fun out of Paper Mario.

Seriously. Just make a sequel to The Thousand Year Door. It's one of the greatest games of all time, in my opinion. Quit beating around the bush with this stuff, Nintendo!

That said, I'd rather have this than no Paper Mario at all. It's just that it kind of looks like a Mario and Luigi game where the gimmick mechanics (which each game in the series has) are taken out of Paper Mario rather than thought up on their own.

I mean, all I really want is the partner system back. Having an entire party of fully unique partners with different personalities in the cutscenes, different abilities in combat, and different ways to navigate in the field is awesome. Also, Goombella. Awesome.

I'm still going to pick this up. I just hope picking this up is voting with my dollars for another standalone, real Paper Mario game rather than voting for shoving Paper Mario into other games.

I like Mario & Luigi games, but I didn't play the fourth one. I'm not sure this will bring me back.

I loved Bowser's Inside Story, but Dream Team had some really horrible garbage.

I played heaps of dream team trying to convince myself it was good because I heard all the M&L games were great, what was it that dream team does different to the others?

Personally, my biggest problems with Dream Team were the tutorials and the bland dream environments.

You literally couldnt figure a single thing out for yourself in that game without that little pillow dude asking you three times if you understand the concept of jumping.

Yep, there definitely was a lot of over-explaining and over-tutorialising. The one thing that really killed the game for me though was the arduous, drawn-out QTE boss fights.

I died towards the end of the Bowser QTE battle and then I had to go through the battle all again. That battle was, without doubt, the single most tedious thing I've ever played through in any game.

Yeah that sounds like a killer - I never actually got the whole way through that game, the fatigue really settled in quickly.

Probably not the best start to try for a the Mario and Luigi games. Hopefully this one is different, even though it seems to look pretty similar.

I can't wait for the heart-wrenching scene which has a distraught Paper Mario recounting to 3D Mario the tragic death of Paper Luigi in the paper timeline.
