Porting this SNES game to PS4 seems really random, but...okay!

Loved this game on the SNES. I was really hoping this game would be more of a brand new game, but a slightly enhanced version of the original with some new features is cool too.

This game has enjoyed a resurgence in retro collecting circles. It's moderately rare, and pretty fun; a good choice to make available to the wider audience.

This is how I think all retro updates should be. Only minimal graphical tweaks like transparencies and smoother sprite rotation etc using the original sprites. Native widescreen support. No ugly graphical filters (don't even give people the option, they're never good).

The android ports of Sonic 1, 2 and CD also did this and they were fantastic.

so excited for this! huge fan of the snes game, been trying to spread the good word of wild guns for years. apparently the original team never left natsume and are all back on board for reloaded! same team was responsible for the snes' best brawler, ninja warriors. it's seriously doubtful but i'd love a physical release!

There is one incredible thing about this that's impossible to know about unless you played this game for yourself. The original SNES version had to scroll the screen heavily in order to fit all those huge sprites in a 4:3 space. Now, all but the largest stages fit on a single screen. To use a somewhat topical (and nerdy) reference, It's basically the difference between watching Hateful Eight in 16:9 and watching Hateful Eight in 2.76:1.

Good on Natsume for recognizing how absurd the price is on this SNES game and realizing there is a demand for the game. There are a few companies starting to see they can breathe new life into old games and make a few $ off their old dead IP's.

@stopskeletons: Less than two years is years? Please explain. I'm sure it sold poorly as well. Who the hell turns on their Wii/Wii U these days?(I never bought either) This version also adds/changes a few things that are missing from the VC version, which is just a straight up rom rip or the original game.

@vfl83: wild guns dropped on wii vc back in 2010. so, six years counts as "years".

proof: look at the date of this article, http://www.nintendolife.com/reviews/vc/wild_guns_snes

i am 100% on board with reloaded, but if you want to circumvent the absurd ebay prices, you've had more than half a decade to do it. and maybe enough people did and that's why they're remaking it!

@stopskeletons: My bad, it has only been on the Wii U since Sep 2014. Still i find Nintendo Consoles to be pretty useless these days and with the huge install base of the PS4, i see why they are bringing it to the system,i know it's not the ebay prices of games, if a game is still selling, you keep printing it(Nintendo Selects) or make it available on every platform you can.

@vfl83: for sure! being a ps4 exclusive will probably bring greater attention to the series and maybe even inspire more remakes of this kind!
