A game of death?

Posted by johncallahan

Bruce Lee celebrating in the fire room is the best.

Posted by DJ_EuroGhost

Sweet, sweet content.

Is it just me or does the box-art look like an Asian Nathan Fillion?

Posted by ArcadiaExeter

And then came the talkies.

I played the shit out of this game when I was a kid. Seeing this again brings back good memories. I really love the sounds in this game, by the way.

Posted by McBradders

Commodore version, Spectrum boxart... hnnnnnnngh.

"Baa-haa!"

Posted by Driam

There's a super high-pitched whine throughout this video that makes it impossible to watch. Great.

Posted by Tondo

So glad that Jeff made this video. Got many great memories from the C64-era. Bruce Lee was one of my absolute favorite games as a kid and we used to play it for hours with my cousins back in the day. Always was a big fight who got to be Bruce and who had to be the Sumo :)

Good to see Jeff keeping the bombastica videos coming ! Hope to see the other staffer making some of their own in the coming year.

Please do Hero next time :-)

Holy hell I used to play the shit out of this game! Jumpman next!

Posted by bcjohnnie

Fuck yes Bruce Lee... I was pretty young when I played it, but that blue room with the moving lights on the floor was always my nightmare. At the time, the jump-kick felt really cool. I remember just hanging out on those first couple of screens and fighting the AI for fun, trying to get them to kill each other. I miss the Commodore days sometimes.

Kind of a bad thing..cuz now it feels like there is no new content today ;(

@handlas: yeah but it will totally be worth it when next week we get new shit ERRRRRRY DAAAAYY!

Posted by LiQuid3600

@JTHomeslice: I think Blue Five is like Jackie Chan, right?

Posted by Scubasteve1974

Raid Over Moscow next by chance?

Posted by Bistromath

Oh so all Bruce Lee's collect lanterns huh?

This game is racist.

Posted by Christoffer

I didn't like the ending. Why all the lanterns, who were those guys that was trying to kill you? Why was the bulls freaking out?

They need to patch in a better ending.

Awesome video though.

Posted by AlexanderSheen

FUCK. YES.

I don't want to dig deeper into bruce lee's corpse...

Thanks Jeff. The Spectrum version of Bruce Lee was something I played constantly with my best friend back in the day. As others have said, so many memories. One of my "favourite" elements of the Spectrum version was Bruce Lee's equivalent of a kill-screen, well a kill-move. If you kicked the ninja out of an opening doorway on the right-hand side of the screen in one of the latter rooms the game would instantly reset. 35 completions to the boss in a row is the best I ever did.. then I kicked the ninja right where I shouldn't have.. reset.. followed by youthful swearing.

Right now these videos are my favorite thing going on Giant Bomb. Keep it up!

Posted by PurpleSpandex

I feel like I've seen this video before.

Posted by perilator666

there was a great Zorro game in this same style. that and this might be my fav c64 games of all time.

Posted by AlKusanagi

I used to play the shit out of this on my Tandy 1000.

Posted by NegativeCero

I find it a little ridiculous that they just named the game "Bruce Lee."

Posted by JackSukeru

Closest thing to a full Bruce Lee movie I've ever seen.

Posted by LandHawk

Do I get credit for pointing out that that's a pile of glittering treasure rather than fire?

Posted by Vitamin_Dei

I loved this game as a kid on my C64.

Man, Giant Bomb Beta is both LIVING IN THE PAST AND THE FUTURE. It's like being in a parallel universe down there....

Posted by envane

whats that buzzing .. its the SID baby

Posted by snattu

This is one of the C-64 all time greats, in my opinion. This, BARBARIAN and ZORRO were absolutely brilliant.

Posted by deltaalphabravo

@Vitamin_Dei: Love how these bad-ass heavy dudes come bowling in; and the last dude politely closes the doors behind them.

Posted by Superkenon

I used to play the C64 version of this all the time.

I t was called Way of the Dragon in Europe which featured the fight against Chuck Norris in the collosium at the end, I have the uncut version on DVD great movie.

When you can't find any lanterns you know Bruce Lee was there.

Posted by Napalm

Collecting lanterns? Would you say... a lantern run?

Posted by Rasmoss

I loved this game.

When you played as the sumo wrestler, the down direction made him shout.

Posted by Qlanth

Bruce Lee endurance run

Posted by chrispti

The game has better checkpointing than most games nowadays.

Posted by Phatmac

Hope you guys enjoyed your Endurance Run for this year!

Posted by justinhall

Good gravy I loved this game. Not sure I ever got more than a dozen screens in at 7 years old. I think it led me to love Mega Man games as much as I did.

Posted by ElectricBeaver

That's not a room full of fire at the end! It's a room full of glorious sparkling treasure!

Posted by JusticeCovert

Man, used to love this one back in the day.
